[ This kid is definitely excited over his new toy; it makes his Nicaraguan accent a little more pronounced. He's chipper despite the rough shape his face is in. Looks like someone clocked him across the forehead real good. ]

So this really is America? I have always wanted to come to the country where the infamous Big Foot lives! [ He looks around the sunny neighborhoods of Heropa. ] You know, it's a lot warmer than I imagined... Humid, too. Not as hot as Costa Rica, though. But you don't even have a rain forest! Where does it all come from?

[ Chico shrugs because he has very little to say on the matter. He wasn't there for either war obviously, but he's still a soldier fighting his own battles on his home front. ]

War never really ends. People just retreat for awhile... I'm fighting to reclaim my country.

[ And it's certainly made criminals out of his rebellion brothers-in-arms. ]

What is it, some sort of revolution, then? Fought on your own soil?

[Those are usually the kinds of wars that have kids his age fighting in them.]

That's right. Although, we... Well, it's not something I should talk about.

[ Not on a public network in AMERICA. They already questioned him extensively about his ties to the Sandinista Liberation Front once he arrived here. Chico doesn't need to antagonize an entire country morseo with his communist ideals. ]

But we will get our country back!

[devoutish]

[ HE GUNNA!! Chico's grave smile is infectious despite the buzzkill of bandage on his head. ]

For now, though, I guess... I'll wait then. At least they gave me a job here, you know. And a house! It's so big.

Yeah? What sort of job have you got? They've given me my own radio show.

[Don't listen to his radio show, Chico. It's terrible.]

Really? I have a show, too! It's on "Who Tube", though I'm not too sure what that is. But I get to talk about the dangers of nuclear arms and become the monster hunter I've always wanted!

Who Tube, yeah, that's a website. Have you got the internet yet, in your time?

I... I'm not sure.

[devoutish]

You'd know if you had it. Do yourself a favor, mate, and get your hands on a computer.

But they are so expensive! And big! Where would I put it?

[devoutish]

Yeah, you remember what I said about things being smaller? They've got computers that can fit into your hand.

[Which is apparently an impressive and fairly new thing, but for someone like Alfie who had never seen any kind of computer before, he has nothing to compare it to.]

Yeah, it is. I can't begin to describe it to you.

Alfie Solomons. London man.

[In case his incredibly thick accent didn't make that obvious.]

And yourself?

Everyone calls me Chico.

[devoutish]

And that means--

[He pauses for a split second to think.]

Ah, I know it means something in Spanish, but I can't recall what.

[hombrenuevo]

........... It means "boy", like a nickname. [ He tries to make it sound better than it is, but... Shit, his name is "boy". There's no getting around that. ] Do you know Spanish, then?

[devoutish]

Nah. Buenos dias, gracias, that's it.

[And his accent is atrocious; sorry, Chico.]

[ Chico laughs. ] Well, it's better than nothing.

[devoutish]

Yeah. There aren't many people who do speak it, in my neighborhood or anywhere near us. We've got the Italians nearby, the Chinese, but no Spaniards.

[hombrenuevo]

Ha, well I don't know any "Spaniards", either. I'm from Nicaragua myself.

None of those in London, that I've heard of. You're the first I've met.
