Hey, is anyone awake for this?

[ A squint at the screen, and a deep frown, while Kaidan looks like he's contemplating something. ]

Actulaly, is anyone...not falling asleep a lot? I'm... I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few around here that hasn't fallen asleep much. At least -- no more than normal? [ This time, he looked to the side, off the screen, before looking back. ]

If you are, or if you're... waking up a lot, what's...going on? Anyone have any ideas? A culprit? Hell, I'd even take a place to start. [ Hell, he'll take some information about what's inside at this point. His fingers drum against the side of the comm, jostling it, before he stopped, realizing what he's doing. ]

Anyway, let me know. Uh -- especially if you're not asleep. We should probably start figuring out who's affected, and go from there. You can reply here, or comm me and let me know. We could divide things up, and start to resolve it. Normally these things work themselves out eventually, but... I'd prefer sooner, rather than later you know? I'm getting worried.

[ And then he moves to cut off the comm, a soft murmur as he does so, before it shuts off: ] Today, of all days?

I think...we may need to gather information over the reason behind some are unaffected. It's kinda hard to find any other pattern otherwise. Maybe this could be a better way to narrow the information down a bit...

[At least, those are her first thoughts concerning the situation, but as for his question...]

It's strange. I'm sleeping more hours, but I can only dream when I'm close to a friend. I don't usually dream on my own. It's difficult to. [She'll take a short pause in a attempt to process her thoughts better.] I remember snippets of it though...

Oh yeah? Like what?

I mean, I've run enough scans on Shepard... I haven't been able to pick anything up on my systems. If anyone has any intel, I'd love to hear it right about now.

For one, it was...kinda dark. You can sense a lot of tension in the air. I don't really known the reason behind it, but....I don't remember there being a lot of noise. It was kinda quiet all around.

[That's as much as her subconscious could remember over what she saw. She has never dreamed in her life except in viewing the memories of her rain partners. Yuu was there. She remember she was desperately searching for something, but having forgotten it was him.]

That's good! It's a relief to hear those affected by the "sleeping beauty syndrome" aren't getting hurt. But Shepard? Are you talking about Sorey or...? [Because she doesn't remember seeing another guy looking after him.]

Who? [ He shrugged. ]

I don't know anyone named Sorey, sorry. John's my partner, he's... definitely out for the count.

[ A sigh. ] I mean, it's probably yet another import thing, but... it's worrying, you know?

Oh, then yeah sorry. You see, my friend Sorey goes by a similar title that he was given back home. I guess "Shepherd" isn't entirely exclusive to spirituality, huh?

[But even so.]

I'm glad your partner is okay all the same. But, you aren't wrong to be concern, it's really worrying especially when you're in the outside of this situation. [She grows quiet.] How long ago was the last time he woke up? Isn't there anything you can do to get in contact with him? I know it's possible for me to get in because of my own partner being trapped in there....

Oh, no, that's his -- last name? His name's John Shepard. His title is Commander. So I guess...it's different?

It was a while last time, a day or two, anyway. It's... I mean, if I could contact him, he'd be waking up. I can't read minds. [ Said like that was actually what she was insinuating, and it was an insult. ]

[There may be a light chuckle.] That's definitely different, yeah. A last name isn't exactly a title.

I guess the sleeping situation is getting worse and worse. Then again, I know some people were able to wake up.... [There will be a sigh.] Sorry. I'm not being very helpful. I don't really know what else to say or suggest. Summoning loud noises via using a thunderstorm storms hasn't help nor my singing neither. [Or making any other type of noise, in general. She's tried them all.]

It's okay... I know it's tough right now. We're all kind of fumbling in the dark, you know?

[ There was a pause, then. ] Do your songs normally wake people up?

Both. I can use it to get people to sleep while there's an amplification to my voice whenever I do sing, so I can sing louder than someone with a microphone.

[And J-pop singing can get quite loud especially when she hits the high notes.]

Oh, huh. I've...never heard of power like that?

It normally works, but not now? That's... pretty unfortunate right about now, huh?

You haven't? [It's still a little surreal to hear someone say that when back home she was known to use her music to summon the rain with. But, after a moment of thought, she'll point out.] I guess there aren't many people with the power to unlock their powers through singing, huh?

[At the reminder of her voice no longer reaching her friends, who once have express great interest in her songs, will leave her sightly pouting.]

Yeah. It annoys me a little too. Not being able to reach Yuu or anyone else, for that matter. Whatever is happening, something is blocking any and all outside stimuli.

Yeah. I tried everything -- even smelling salts, but he's just... still just like he was.

[ A sigh. ] Even the dog's worried. That's always a bad sign, you know?

[ He's probably not helping. ]

Damn. Now that you mentioned the dog, I'd trust his instincts over anyone else's.

[She'll always believe an animal's instincts. So, yes, that isn't helping any matters, but she believes his words over his partner being healthy regardless of it all. Right now, it's best to remain positive and try to look at the situation in any way possible.]

...hey, have you been in this world for a good while? Do you remember anything like this happening before? Anything similar could work too.

Her's, but yeah, I do too. [ He always trusts Mako. ]

I have been here for a while. It's... there was a time before where some of us fell asleep and got trapped in a Dreamscape. It could be something like that again, but... I'm not sure.

It's a place to start, though.

What's her name? [....she may be losing focus here, but....]

A Dreamscape? [What was that? It sounded like the name of an amusement park.] ...it could be, yeah. Do you remember what happened when it first popped up?

It's Mako. [ From off screen, a soft whine. She heard her name, after all. ]

But... I mean, I remember some, but I was out during that time. It was...like being stuck in a dream that you knew was a dream, but wasn't? That's the best I can describe it as.

[Give her a second to smile upon hearing her. Too bad it wasn't video or she'd want to wave at her.]

Strange. The way you described it feels oddly familiar though. [Kinda like that soundless and grey world she was in.] Were you able to control your actions in that dreamscape?

Well, just about as much as normal. What we couldn't change was the...scenery.

And being in a place can change you, for better or worse. How...how is it familiar?

[The more he described it, the more she was able to remember what she had seen before waking up.]

It sounds a lot like the...images I saw when I was able to sleep.

[She has never dreamed before. It was one of the many natural requirements she had to give up to become a rain summoner. The only times she was able to view images were in the form of memories her partners would allow her to see through their link with her.]

You couldn't change the scenery, you had to act out a certain part, and it just felt weird all around to. In my case, I remember missing some of my usual senses....

Your senses? Like... could you not hear?

[ This sounds... awful, actually.]

I mean, yeah, essentially, we had to relive things over and over, and things...could get wildly out of control. I had to kill people I cared about multiple times, and -- [ A soft sigh, and a pause. ] I don't know if I'll ever be able to get over that, you know?

Hearing nor speaking. I had to use telepathy to communicate with others, but I couldn't do it unless I lost myself to the dream.

[It was difficult to explain. She has never used telepathy before except whenever she called out to her rain partners. In this case, she was able to speak to some people, not all neither.

She would've gotten lost in her own thoughts over it until she heard the other man's explanation about his experience in the other dream-related situation which will leave her silent. Just imagining a situation like that hurt her even if she didn't experience it like he did.]

Yeah. It sounds...really painful. Experiencing a situation like that...I don't think I can fully imagine the pain you must have felt -- still feel -- after escaping. [A pause.] I'm sorry.

Oh, it was...what it was, you know? It's not that bad, comparatively.

[ Come on, he's facing extinction, he can put on a brave face. ]

But the sentiment's appreciated.

[He's very brave. She can tell by his remark that he may have gone through worse. Normally, she would pry, but for now it doesn't seem like a good time to. Not now.]

Thank you for being so honest with me about it too. Not many people would've. It just proves that you're stronger than most too.

[That's why she'll add.]

I think your partner will be okay. We'll find a way to bring him and everyone back from this sleep coma. Hopefully our conversation is enough to point you at the right path. Since you have more experience than I do. I'm going to try and sleep, and see if I can find anything out. There has to be a way to wake them up in that world.

[She was now more determine than ever to find it. Now that she knows a situation like this has happened once before.]

Let's just say I don't think this will take him out -- but... the encouragement's appreciated. We'll all have to work together to do this. So... I'll do everything I can on my end, too.

I'm counting on you to. Many of us are. We're the only one who can, I think.

[Hopefully it won't put much pressure on him after saying that, but she believes he's a capable person after talking to him.]
