With help from everyone who responded, I've found the shooting range in De Chima. And, with some notable generosity thanks to the Major, have managed to get a weapon more suitable for this planet. But thanks to another suggestion, I've been curious about this whole .. paint ball and laser tag thing.

What I guess I'm asking is, would anyone be interested in either of those events? Apparently you need teams of varying numbers.

I've never played before. We didn't have things like that where I'm from. I was looking into shooting ranges, but this sounds a bit more - interesting. Even fun.

Oh, then you definitely have to try it. It's absolutely fun, even if they most likely aren't as immersive as the laster tag where I'm from.

I need some way to blow off steam. The shooting range has been great for that, but there's something to be said for having moving, living targets who you won't actually kill if you shoot at them.

of course i wouldn't. i'm only half certain that i'm interested, to be honest. slight worry that it might stir up some old memories, but ..

i have so much extra energy since i've arrived here, because i'm not using it for anything like i did before. this feels - close, it'll still get that extra energy out, but it won't hurt anyone.

but of course i don't mind.

That would help, wouldn't it? I've not done either before, as we didn't have them in my galaxy but, apparently laser tag is - you all get fake guns that shoot lasers, and everyone wears a vest with a sensor. So you shoot "at" each other with the lasers, and I guess the goal is to get the other team out by shooting at them.

Same principle for paint ball, only you use air rifles I think that shoot little pellets of paint that explode when they hit someone or something.

I'd only just learnt about them both myself. We didn't have them where I'm from.

They're both games you play with teams. For laser tag, it seems everyone wears a vest with a sensor and carries fake guns that shoot safe lasers. The goal seems to be to shoot as many of those sensors as possible without being shot at yourself.

Similar approach for paintball, though instead of a laser gun, you have air guns that shoot little balls of paint that explode when they hit something.
