[Was that a mask? The visual shows what appears to be some sort of skeletal alien mask and the voice that accompanies it sounds oddly mechanical. Some here may recognize the cyborg General, even if just from historical records. While arriving as human, he'd quickly discovered his powers of transformation from the files he was given then after some brief experimenting he settled on the one he'd last been most familiar with. At least for now.]

Citizens. Heroes.

[The emphasized word seems to catch in his throat and there's a brief cough before he continues with an underlying growl to his tone.]

This is an unfortunate development. I was interrupted in the midst of a critical battle. I do not have time to deal with your little world's problems.

[The words are interrupted again by more coughing then an annoyed growl before the video cuts out abruptly.]

[Oh well yes, of course Grievous wouldn't know, but that's half the small amount of fun he's going to get out if this conversation. Personally having a hand in aggravating a historical figure is not something he'd get to do with such frequency until coming here.

It would be more polite to break the news gently. So, he'll do the opposite.]

[There's an angry growl and a loud thump as Grievous brings his fist down on something out of frame. He has already been informed as much but the extra confirmation does hurt.]

You are not a battle droid. What are your special functions?

After the war, any droid resembling a battle droid, or without hard-coded restrictions against violence were made illegal and destroyed, except security droids.

I'm a security droid. My original functions included protocols for protection, bodyguarding, enforcement, and riot control.

If you are programmed correctly you should be withholding nothing. Unless somebody else has something to hide.

They aren't secrets about a dead Separatist General, so I don't know why you should care.

[The reminder of him being dead is unwelcome but he lets it go.]

This is a planet called Earth, with near identical conditions to Coruscant with a smaller popular, and consisting entirely of humans with a small fraction imPort population as an exception. There are approximately two hundred different countries, most with unique cultures, and the one we are in right now is called the United States of America. It is currently in a high tension situation with a country called Russia, and we have been asked by this country's government to register as "heroes" so that they can request us for assistance.

What else can you tell me about this registration process?

[He has heard these basics before from his introduction and arrival but it didn't hurt to hear a perspective from somebody who might have had the experience. Especially a droid who may be more blunt and not offer embellishments.]

There is a "Swear-In" ceremony, from what seems to be about once a month or so, in which imPorts are encouraged to go to and "pledge allegiance" to the government. The benefits of registering include free housing, free medical benefits, job security, and a legal allowance to be a "hero" without constant explicit permission from the government. It also allows for frequent and easy access to the Porter, amongst other things.

Failing to "register" puts you at an "unsettled" status, and overall makes your life more complicated here. On purpose, I would think, so that you will be more likely to register. Many imPorts don't register, due to the fear of "owing" the government in some manner. I am certain the Count has his own feelings on the matter.

[ Since he knows you two are like besties, right?? At the very least, for being a sarcastic, insufferable droid, he's a helpful one when it comes to information. ]

Do you know how much control this government can exert over those who are registered?

[He's considering that it might be the wiser option but he wonders how much they can make imPorts actually do, even forced against their will if their opinions clash.]

They ask nicely for volunteers when disaster strikes.

[ It... certainly sounds like sarcasm, but he's been anything but dishonest so far... ]

It depends on what you qualify as an emergency. Sometimes it means a natural disaster has occurred, and they need rescues. Sometimes it means lesser situations. But overall, that seems to be the general idea of it.
