[There's a bit of button mashing but Brenda doesn't take long to figure the phone out. It's not too drastically different to the cellphones back home at least. Which is something of some small comfort. Little, (mostly) familiar things around this strange Heropa place. When the video feed starts, she shifts back a bit more, giving a nervous wave of sorts.]
Uh. Hey? I know some of you might already know Jaime, so I'll just. Introduce myself as his friend. I'm Brenda. Completely new here and totally not....way out of my depth. At all. Nope.
[Yes, that was totally sarcasm. And hey, for Brenda, since she isn't yet yelling or punching anyone? She's taking all of this remarkably well, actually.]
I mean, I'm used to the whole...superhero thing. I mean, you know, we had them back home. Just....I wasn't exactly one myself. So me actually having powers? That's new. I guess I should be glad I have him around, at least one familiar face in all of this crazy. I don't suppose anyone else knows much about the powers? How they work? I'm going to need to practice, I figure. But with this er, super strength? I don't want to like, accidentally hurt someone or break something while doing it? But I figure it's best to at least try learn to control it.
[There's a sigh, a hand running through her hair as she considers and pouts for a moment. There are only a million questions she has, but Jaime has already been a huge help with that.]
I don't suppose the whole school thing? The work we do here will cross over back home?
[Yeah. Brenda would ask something like that. Study nerd that she is, aspiring lawyer and all. Of course. Though balancing that and her hero thing here will be much more difficult. She'll be getting something of a better idea on what poor Jaime has been going through now.]

[ Bader happens to be an olympian at getting her ass beat. Trust her on this. ]

[Which, if anyone knows Brenda, is still perfectly. Terrifying combined with her aikido skills. Paco would be running in the opposite direction for sure if he was here.]

That's...a good question. Our schoolwork here crossing over back home, I mean. C'mon, it's just regular old school! Not even superschool. [Kay, we've been over that.]
I'm going to guess it doesn't but if it did that would be great. Superschool? You mean like learning our powers sort of thing? You'd think that would at least be part of it. Not everyone here is exactly...used to this. Me being one of them.
[But there's not a lot to be done either way, really. Regardless, Brenda will still soldier on and do her schoolwork. It'll just be frustrating to think it might not really end up making her any real progress with her education.]

And I highly doubt they'll let school work cross over, so have fun with that.
[says the teenager to the teenager. This one is so not going to school]
video
If it doesn't, then what is the point? I mean, I'm studying in school to eventually be a lawyer. If all that I do here makes me no progress to that....
[Ugh. This is just. Frustrating. But Brenda can't blame this girl either. It's not her fault. Brenda just has a short fuse and is really not in the mood to hear that sort of thing.]

your power sounds cool tho
[Unlike his, which he doesn't even believe is a real power.
And oh shit, school. Jayden's been in so much of a daze since he arrived he forgot he technically missed the end of his school year due to space/time wonkiness.]
and i have no idea about school but i think this is a one way trip, so i hope they don't make us repeat anything. its not like we can just show them transcripts, right
text
I'd damn well hope we don't need to repeat anything. I have enough tests and exams to stress about back home. I am totally not going through any twice. Not if I can help it.

[That's good to know. She's glad he's got a friend here that he knew from home.]
I'm Elsa. It's nice to meet you.
video;
Nice to meet you too, Elsa. I'll have to thank you if you helped Jaime out when he was here. He hasn't been getting into too much trouble without me?
[Not that he actively looks for it, exactly. She just knows things.....happen.]

[So that's a skeptical 'not sure I believe that one', sorry Wally. She knows Jaime kind of muddled along on his own and came to them for help with it. And let his family in on the secret too. She's pretty sure if anyone else were helping him, she would know. :l
But of course she has no idea who Jaime might have already told about the whole Beetle thing so for now she's trying to keep quiet on that front and not bring any attention to the hero thing.]
But uh, nice to meet you?

As for the super strength, there's plenty've people around here with that. Maybe hit up one've them to work on controlling it.
[A pause, and his arms fold.]
--And nah, Pretty sure shit doesn't carry over back home. People who've gone back say it's exactly where they left off.
video;
[She teases. But no, she does love Jaime. He's her best friend, and she's insanely grateful to have him here with everything.]
There are? I guess it's not some stupidly specific or unique powers at least. That's not a bad idea, if I find any on here at least to then arrange meeting up in person.
[But oh. Oh, no. Then....all the tests, all the exams here....they would mean nothing? That's just. Cruel. Frustrating. Brenda isn't sure what to think at hearing such news. She's always been so focused on school, on her dream to be a lawyer. Hearing that she basically can't really make any progress on that here? That's. Painful. Infuriating.]
I see. I guess that means there might not be that much point in studying here then. Besides anything we might learn specifically on this...Heropa?

[ part of why she dropped out, the rest is just being too impatient to join the workforce. who has time to be a teenager? ]
But it isn't so rare a thing. Being out of your depth, I mean.
video.
[They just have like. One more year, dammit. And then she could finally get to college and studying law. But no, that is not to be a thing here, apparently.]
I guess that's comforting to know I'm not the only one then.
