It's weird to think that maybe this Earth could turn out like the one from my universe. Or timeline. Or however it works...
(I'm not really smart about all this, I'm sorry...)

But there's a lot that's similar. Even on the planet I lived on, and all the ones in the galaxy, we all use the same clock system, even though some days are longer or shorter depending on which planet you landed on. Same 24 hour clock. And this Earth uses one, too. And there's baseball and hovercars and the moon landing was about the same time (I think)...

So I wonder how long it will take for this Earth to leave the planet, if it will. Or maybe it won't because it won't make the same mistakes the Earth in my history did. Or maybe they WILL but they'll decide to do something differently. Maybe because people like us are here it's already changed how things will go. Maybe because I'm here the railways from my world can show, and maybe because someone else is here, something from their history will happen? IS that already happening?

It's also weird that I can think about all this without trying when I'm TRYING to study something else...

Yeah you're right...
But it's still kind of fun to think about it I guess. Like maybe some of us will be historical here the same way some stuff is already here and back home. Like maybe this world will have space pirates and alien encounters too, but with new outcomes!
And maybe there'll be a Manabu Yuuki when THIS universe hits the 23rd century...

Humans aren't really all that creative, so it's not really surprising that the same things keep showing up on different earths. It's probably all they have.

I don't think that they're going to figure out how to leave the planet anytime soon, though. They're not moving particularly fast at all.

Really? Even with the technology to warp people across time and space...We don't have that where I'm from and we've already colonized several planets. Maybe it's because the priorities are different here.

I don't think that the humans here built that porter - or if they did, someone else gave them the plans. It's too advanced compared to everything else here.

It seems like it. But it's hard to know for sure...
There used to be a lot more people here who dealt with that kind of technology on some other Earth, but from what I can tell, a whole bunch of them are gone.

Sorry if it sounds weird... I mean I guess I think of Earth as the people as opposed to the place. Historical people on Earth, letting go and leaving the planet to find something new.

Back where I'm from at least. Years ago it was just outlaws, but regular folks followed along later. There's still a lot of colonies out there, looking for an ideal place.

That seems...how were they able to create that level of technology without the support of their government?

Haha well there's lots of wild stories, so I couldn't tell you what's the truth.
The most famous was about Captain Harlock and his pirate ship Arcadia, which pillaged the first few colonial ships the government sent out for resources. Some people called him a menace, but lots of people still admire him.
He sure showed how foolish the government was at that time, I can admit that much...

Yeah. Definitely. Back then, the rich starved out the poor and made them work to find more wealth and goods... All that stuff funneled out to people who didn't need it.
That's what my dad said anyway. It was a long time ago...

Yeah.
Most people have left Earth and now everyone is connected by the railway. That's where I work. Everyone is taken care of, nobody is left behind if I can help it.
It's not perfect, but lots of good people are working hard to make things better!
That's what I hope to help with here...

Yeah!
It starts out on iron rails on land, then once the train exits the atmosphere, the rail becomes a series of gates that guide the trains to the next station. You can go planet to planet on it. It's really cool.
Did you have anything like that where you're from?

The Midgar continent has a railway system, yes.
But it is restricted to Midgar and Junon.

We have only sent one rocket into space.
