It's weird to think that maybe this Earth could turn out like the one from my universe. Or timeline. Or however it works...
(I'm not really smart about all this, I'm sorry...)
But there's a lot that's similar. Even on the planet I lived on, and all the ones in the galaxy, we all use the same clock system, even though some days are longer or shorter depending on which planet you landed on. Same 24 hour clock. And this Earth uses one, too. And there's baseball and hovercars and the moon landing was about the same time (I think)...
So I wonder how long it will take for this Earth to leave the planet, if it will. Or maybe it won't because it won't make the same mistakes the Earth in my history did. Or maybe they WILL but they'll decide to do something differently. Maybe because people like us are here it's already changed how things will go. Maybe because I'm here the railways from my world can show, and maybe because someone else is here, something from their history will happen? IS that already happening?
It's also weird that I can think about all this without trying when I'm TRYING to study something else...

But it's still kind of fun to think about it I guess. Like maybe some of us will be historical here the same way some stuff is already here and back home. Like maybe this world will have space pirates and alien encounters too, but with new outcomes!
And maybe there'll be a Manabu Yuuki when THIS universe hits the 23rd century...
That part is extra weird.

I don't think that they're going to figure out how to leave the planet anytime soon, though. They're not moving particularly fast at all.
[they literally only launched their first space vessel a few years ago. like, what the fuck?]

There used to be a lot more people here who dealt with that kind of technology on some other Earth, but from what I can tell, a whole bunch of them are gone.

Sorry if it sounds weird... I mean I guess I think of Earth as the people as opposed to the place. Historical people on Earth, letting go and leaving the planet to find something new.

[Shelke didn't quite know why that disappointed her. Maybe she'd been hoping to find a universe that worked like hers did.]
So you mean humanity eventually becomes space travelers.

so does that mean that in spite of everything, things are locked onto a path? what path, then? it's the kind of thing that makes me uneasy. i always thought that if the world was different people would be better. my world's a shithole, i had to tell myself that to survive sometimes. but things are different here and authors are still authors, criminals are still criminals, the people history class taught me were good guys still did good-guy stuff, even if it's not the exact same stuff.
i don't know if that means we don't really have a choice or if we're all naturally inclined towards things to the point it almost doesn't matter. i don't really like either answer.
it's entirely possible we're both getting this wrong though. we're not quantum physicists or philosophers or historians. the similarities and the differences and what they mean might be beyond our understanding right now, dollface. maybe it always will be.
i look at it this way: at least here I have friends, i have people who give a shit whether i live or die, and i can help people. that's more than i ever thought i'd get out of life.
this is fucking hilarious coming from me given i love shakespeare and shakespeare is depressing as fuck but maybe you need to look at the positives here.
[Brendan is good at texting out lengthy paragraphs when he's melancholy. This is one of those nights. Well, evening, but still. He hates that this is something he can't puzzle out, so he's just dealing with it by looking at the ways this is an improvement over home... and missing people who he knew back home who'd like it here.]
you gonna be okay?
no subject
But I'm glad you're looking at the brighter side of things. That's the part worth fighting for, destiny or not...
I'm fine, don't worry! And it sounds like I don't have to worry about you either?
no subject
me looking on the bright side is surreal. but any other way to look at it will drive you crazy.
well i may never look at butterflies the same way but other than that i'm good. you didn't get caught up in that mess, did you? :c

The world I am from is vastly different from this one. The only thing there's anything in common is that there are common wildlife and humanity, but that's about it. I am not sure if my world inhabitants can leave and go to the stars aside from death.
And what are you trying to study?
no subject
Studying English right now. There's a test I'm trying to prepare for.
no subject
I think it does. Someone came from my world and left a brief but terrible mark. I wasn't here when it happened, but what she left behind made people remember her for good. And not in a good way, either.
English is a strange language to learn. I had to learn it myself when I first arrived.
[ Auri you couldn't even read your own language if it was possible ]

ouuu kitty i remember u from my marty darkov dayssss
Like the government ignoring the poor and basically running them ragged searching for resources for the rich...Ignoring the people warning about an extra-terrestrial invasion...Anything to do with hurting or discriminating against machine men...There's been lots of mistakes over the years.
I like to think it's better than it was, but there's still work to be done. Some people still aren't being heard and that needs to be fixed.
i missed you, alot
Well, they definitely still neglect the poor. There's no question of that. I don't know about machine men, though - like, robots, you mean?
i missed u too! im glad i get to tag u again :>
and likewise, you're the best
so are u!
