Why is this man to be avoided?

He is no Man, though he may parade as one. He is one of the Valar and possessed of great, Dark power. The suffering of others pleases him and he would be overjoyed should we all perish in flame.

And what exactly are the "Valar"?

Those who were first created by Eru, the Creator of All. They are the most powerful - besides the All-Father - and they touched the lands of Valinor and Arda, creating everything one might see or touch. They dwell in the air and the sea too.

[There's that "Eru" shit again. And, from what he can tell, talk of other god-like beings as well. Such things might exist in your world, Thranduil, but they certainly do not in D33's (that is, he is quite unwilling to believe that they do).]

Are these beings typically so nefarious?

{They could be there. Thranduil would need him to prove their complete absence.}

No, he is alone in his love for Chaos. There was a servant - one of the Maiar - who pledged himself to his cause, but, together, they are...anomalies.

And you say that he now resides within the city?

An ImPort?

I do.

Do you know of what powers he possesses in this world?

[tauraran]

I have kept my sights on him, but I have yet to provoke him. If they correlate with what he had on Arda, we are in danger.

What would that be, exactly?

[tauraran]

He could shape the earth, create mountains and cause fire to raze the land. He is the father of dragons, balrogs and other dangerous creatures. With his hammer, he could conquer nearly any foe until the other Valar rose up against him.

[Well. That's not exactly ideal, now is it?]

Surely such powers cannot truly exist within these cities.

[What is he saying? This place is insane. Of course they could. But he's not ready to accept that just yet (or accept that any of what Thranduil is saying is true in the first place - crazy old elf).]

I do not know. I will not take chances. {Because it is because of Morgoth that he lost his father and sustained his horrific burns.}

What will you do, in that case?

My sword will serve me well.

Will your sword combat a shifting earth or the raging fires that you speak of? What of the mighty hammer that you have described? Dragons?

Surely you can't be so foolish as to think that a piece of steel can protect you from such things.

[No matter how foolish you might appear to him otherwise.]

My other abilities must suffice to bring me close enough to him. Then my sword will be buried in his heart. Since he is trapped in one form, without the form, he will be, temporarily, useless.

Do not underestimate an Elven sword.

What, if I might ask, are your "other abilities"?

[tauraran]

I am a Sinda; an Elf of Sindar. My senses, my attributes are stronger, faster and more precise than those of the race of Men. I am not an easy foe in any battle no matter who I face.

[Funny. For the first time since arriving, D33 is actually feeling a bit of interest toward a potential challenge.

[But it likely won't come to that - unless, of course, such a thing were to become necessary.]
