Hello Network, if we haven't met already my name is Skeets. Professor Skeets, actually. I teach history at De Chima University.

Recently I have been considering teaching something else, so this post is meant to gauge interest -- are you from a world that doesn't have the Internet? Are you from an era before and after contemporary Internet culture? Are you too old to get it? If you're interested, I can explain the Internet to you.

The Internet is a global system of interconnected networks you can access with a computer, or other devices capable of connecting to it, usually through what's called Wi-Fi. The layman version, is it is a communication tool that you can use to talk to anyone almost instantly anywhere in the world. Some ways to use it are making a website, posting on social media, using instant messages or video chat (similar to the Network). It's also useful tool for finding information, reading or watching news, cheering yourself up with cute animal pictures, or engaging in more Adult interests.

You know, having lived my childhood through the bulk of the Internet history, at least, you know, the 1990s onward and thus having spent a lot of time immersed in internet culture, I'm kind of curious how Mr. Floaty History Roomba wants to paraphrase that era. While those two things are indeed the backbone of the Internet, there's all sorts of things on it. Essentially it is a reflection of society, containing all the interests and multitudes that the world outside has.

While using it to look up information is indeed one of the more useful aspects of the Internet, there are a multitude of other purposes that you can use it for (ie social, entertainment, news, etc.) .

While it's possible to use the Network mentally, I don't believe there's a common way to do so with the internet. [ Skeets has built-in wi-fi so he's the exception here. ] However, there may be other methods you can try. Often there's the option for voice dictaion, which allows you to speak commands and will type what you say into the microphone. There are also several tech-geniuses around that may be able to make you a paw-friendly computer.

You had me at history. What kind? Also, where I'm from, we have the internet but I'm too busy to care much for what's on it these days.

As my skills are broad, I teach Introduction to History, as well as classes focused around North American and European history.

As long as the history is from before 1945, my extensive historical databanks usually come in use, though I've had to cross-reference this world's data to make sure I'm not accidentally leaving in history that didn't happen in this universe.

The Internet is a worldwide system of interconnected networks that you can access through computers or other devices that can use Wi-Fi. It serves many functions, primarily communication as you can talk to anyone instantly, similar to the Network though far more broad. It has an extensive range of uses, from websites, online encyclopedias (including a subset known as "wikis"), information databases, social media, video and streaming platforms, apps and instant messaging.
