[ the face that currently peers back at the device gives a small, tired smile and wave, he's set amidst a backdrop of what looks like an open area. ]

I think I was just ported out, but I'm not sure how long it's been. There's something new, I didn't have before. I think that's why -- [ he runs a hand over his face, adjusting his goggles before he's holding the camera a little back so something can be seen in the shot -- the pair of glossy black feathered wings he's now sporting at his back. ] 

When I said I missed flying, this wasn't what I had in mind.

[ and Bodhi looks a little somber now - the smile fading a bit, pausing before he continues, addressing a few people. ]

I'm sorry to any of my friends that I may have worried. [ Even if he couldn't help it, damn it stop apologizing. ] I'm -- I'm on my way back home.

So if we all had something like that we'd know if one of us was still here or was actually sent -- away, if we disappear.

[ honestly its not a bad idea, and considering it's happened twice in one month... yeah. And he was worried, that he'd come back to find that the others had gone back too, and hadn't returned. ]

That would be the gist of it, yes. If I couldn't detect your tracker's signal, then it means you were actually gone, while if I was still able to find it, or even see that it was still online, it would mean your body was still present. It would eliminate the doubt that we've been encountering.

They're really weird. I feel like they should be heavy, but they're not. They're just... there.

I could just fly...? No, not yet. I mean I probably could but I wouldn't say no to company.

[He has some idea of where Bodhi is from the background and can track the rest of the way with their comm signals.

But he's gonna keep Bodhi on the line while he makes his way. Much as he's pretty sure Bodhi isn't going to disappear again, it's hard to shake the desire to keep the conversation going just to make sure. As if he didn't know better that line of sight and conversation are any protection… but what the heck.]

I think Poe is gonna want to help you get used to them.

[ He doesn't mind the continued open link and conversation carrying on, even as he makes his way to Bodhi. A reassurance that he hasn't come back a week later only to find that his friends had all vanished and weren't coming back.

A paranoid thought, but a fearful one all the same. ]

Any help that I can get would probably be useful. I've never had wings before, but I don't think jumping off something high and hoping for the best is a good way of figuring it out.

[A medium-sized bird appears on the screen, turning its head sideways to allow its eye to peer into the camera lens. It tilts its head one way, then the other, as though trying to make sense of the video it sees on the screen. After Bodhi's message finishes, the bird opens its hooked beak and lets out a series of high-pitched sounds, like it recognizes the message and its sender.

The video switches off, somehow, and a short while later, it's soaring above the different Porter cities, trying to locate the man in the message, calling out with the same series of chirps as it had in the video.]

[ The video is a little... confusing to Bodhi to say the least, but he doesn't think too much on it. He's still got a little ways to go before he's able to make it home, he just wanted to let the others know he was back before he got in, so they don't think he's an imposter, or something.

It's not until the bird, the same from the video, from the sound of it is flying above. Realization hits, and he waves his arms, and calls out. Maybe if he got up in the air -- ? But all he manages is a sort of hover -- just a few feet above, and he's flopping down onto the ground.

Gonna need to work on that. ]

[Sniper-like sight easily locates the man, waving his arms. The bird circles around a few times, as though getting a layout of the area, before swooping down with considerable speed and landing on its feet with a few soft flaps of its wings. It tilts its head a few different ways, gauging Bodhi's form and his struggle, before calling out in its high-pitched screech, stretching out its wings to either side of its body. It allows for a few large flaps, picking its feet up off the ground, so it can hover, then tries to show Bodhi how to flap his wings harder to allow for lift, hovering about 20 feet off of the ground.]

[ Bodhi watches, as the small bird circles and landing nearby. Watching him, curiously and then... demonstrating, as if offering advice on the proper way. Lips curling into a small smile, well - it's not the weirdest experience he's had since arriving. Watching, he nods and allows the wings to spread to their length and gives them a few flaps.

They're large, and scaled proportionately to his body, but he's still not used to the strength it'd take for him to get off the ground. Even though he's not really all that heavy. But once he gets the speed and larger flapping going on, he can match in the height off the ground. ]

This is... really happening?

[ In his moment, he drops a little in height, distracted, but pulls himself up to the bird's height. ]

Good to see you, buddy. Had us worried for a minute, there.

Those, uh - those are something else. I didn't realise that these power things could add body parts.

Yeah, sorry. You don't really get any sort of say in the matter before they take you. Kay has suggested trackers.

[ he looks back at them a little, with a raised brow. ]

I didn't either, but flight is a power. Just a different kind than yours.

It's not a bad idea, to be honest. But if someone ported out - would the tracker go too, or - do people leave their clothes behind? [It was a very sudden, gruesome thought, imagining a pile of clothes and Bodhi's shoes, somewhere, and he immediately focused on the other topic.]

So they work, then? You can fly?

I'm not really sure how that works. I assume that it'd go with you?

They do. I can. Well, hover, at the moment. It'll probably take a bit of time and practice till I'm giving you a run for your money.

[ That's not to say developing a spontaneous pair of wings isn't impressive. However Lando's a little jealous. All he can do is give people moustaches and manipulate luck and tech. ]

Surprisingly, not really. I don't even notice them when they're not.. fully out? Otherwise, it's not like they're really heavy or feel like they're not supposed to be there. They're just kind of. There.
