It's not always easy, but perhaps ask your friends. Talk to them, explain them how you feel. They are probably the people that will truly listen to you.

Usually something like this is the first step. What's wrong?

The same things that are wrong for everybody I think. It's just that it's hard to talk about because it's nicer here than it was at home in lots of ways but I just can't get used to it and explaining that will take a lot of talking about things that aren't nice to say

I've found it's not always easy, especially when you don't know that you need help in the first place. The fact that you know that much is half the battle, I think. Even something as simple as "I think I need help" is enough.

Do you have any friends that you can talk to? Even if they may not be able to help directly, you would still have someone else looking out for how to help you too.

You know when there is something about you that you don't know if you want to share? I do not know if I want to share my things with the people I'm friends with but I would need to for them to understand some of what the matter is

I know

Just settling in. This place is very different to where I was. It's just lots of little things. It's like having more safety has made me feel less safe. And I don't really have a role here so I don't feel very useful

It may seem like a burden, but if they truly care about you, they'll want to help any way they can...

There are friends that I trust but not really any who I want to tell about the things I would need to explain to make some of the problems make sense. Which makes it hard
