[ do you know how to cope with being murdered in some haunted house by some creepy omnious voice talking to you? You don't sleep and decide to drown in work. That's obviously what you should do. That's obviously what kaneki is doing.

When Kaneki comes to the screen he is wearing glasses and is surrounded by books and two computer screens, and he looks like he hasn't slept in years (because, let's be honest, he hasn't). He will get right to the point when the video feed starts, offering a small smile and a bow of his head ]

Hello. I wish to bring something to you today. Years ago, an imPort by the name of Kate Bishop started a FAQ, with the idea to give every imPort the information they needed about this world and their situation. It was a good idea, but once she was ported out, this FAQ became out of date and it hasn't been updated in years. I wish to bring it back and follow what Miss Bishop wanted to do. I already have her FAQ, which I'll be adapting and updating but given two years have passed since it was written, I think it's necessary to add what today's imPorts want to know and worry about.

That's why I'm making this post. If you have any question you want to see in this FAQ, go ahead and ask. I'll be adding them to the document. And of course, share the document once it's ready.

[Jack can't help but chuckle some. He knows he's disobeying the rules and all but someone needs to lighten up the mood.]

Now I got meself a real question for ya. Why do ya think a bloke like me got thrust three hundred years into the bloomin' future?

Actually, you aren't the first one, some imPort come from the "future", and others from the "past". [ kaneki shakes his head a little ] To be fair, it can't actually be called future and past, because you are from a different world even if it's similar to the past of some other worlds. Just like imPorts who came from the future can't say their worlds are going to be our future - there are many worlds, many possibilities.

So technically, you were sent to a world that has a past similar to your present...? [ IT'S A HEADACHE ]

[Jack tilts his head to the side and just stares at the boy like he lost his marbles. If he's from the past of a world similar to his present, doesn't that make it the future? But then again this might not be the same world--]

Wait a moment. So, this place might not BE the same world. If that's the case, how come I found me charts hangin' up for display in some museum?

[The pirate holds up what seems to be a rather worn Asian map hailing from the deep Orients. It's called a Mao Kun navigational chart. It's the alleged map to the Land of the Dead.]

This here be an artifact of a bygone age, lad. One I carried with me prior to being washed ashore. I reclaimed it from the buggers at that museum in town.

This place almost surely isn't the same world as yours. Like I said, there are multiple versions of Earth - I came from one, and most people here came from a different one as well. [ why would Jack come from the past of this world, and why would some other import would come from the future? Lachesis never cared for the natives of this world - or her original world - so there is no reason why she'd bring in a native ] Yours just happens to be in the 1700's.

However, Earths share many things sometimes. Be it history, be it political figures, or maps, for example. The authors that exist in here, exist in my world as well. Monuments, countries, religion and lore. Some Earths are so similar that you can't even tell the difference between the two aside one specific event, for example.

So, I'm really...alone here? [He settles the navigational chart gently upon his lap looking quite forlorn for once.] The only pirate hailin' from me world?

[Jack drinks in those words for a moment, his expression oddly tense now.]

"The problem with bein' the last of anythin', is by and by there'll be none left at all."

[He scoffs quietly as he quotes that dreadful scraggly bearded thief of a man.]

This be a somb'r day when ye be quotin' the man who betrayed you.

Don't worry, Captain. There are sailors around, perhaps not from your world but- still like you in a way. [ HE HOPES YOU LIKE ARCHIE BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONE YOU'LL GET ]

And if it helps, you could certainly be from some other imPort's world and from their past. You just aren't from this specific world.

[Thank the Seven Seas for Archie! Jack would be in poor company if he didn't like the smarmy pokemon-clad pirate. He's the only other sea loving cur here.]

Rum luck, I say. [He grumbles with an annoyed pout.] I bet dear William and Elizabeth would've enjoyed some respite from the humdrum of Port Royal.

[That and the fact Will would've enjoyed the chance of being on land again.]

Meh, I suppose I can't complain much but I miss the open seas, lad.

William and Elizabeth...? [ he has no idea who those people are apart from those being very British names. ]

I understand that. Sadly you can't just go travel the ocean anymore.

[If only Will was here to defend himself. The blacksmith would let Kaneki know he's no eunuch as Jack keeps suggesting. It's an inside joke that poor Turner would gladly see put to rest by strangling this foul man. Jack is a bit of a jokester and a trickster at times.]

[He misses those slimey slippery eels he deem as "friends". Jack misses them almost as he misses his ship.]
