I'm good at what I do. I know I can make a difference. Even if that's just saving a few people, it's still worth it. And if I die, I'll go knowing I was doing something that mattered.

Or, perhaps you will die only to have doomed the lives you've saved to another end.

Such thinking is foolish. There's little point in martyring yourself for the lives of strangers, especially if they will likely perish either way.

Protecting people is always worthwhile. Especially when the odds are bad. What the hell is your problem?

Such thinking is foolish, as I've said. What sense does it make to put your own life at risk when the outcome will likely be unfavorable either way?

As for your question, I'm not entirely sure what it is you're meaning to ask.

Even given the fact that D33 has managed to make a few strong connections in this world, it is hard to imagine sacrificing his life for any one of them (aside from Kaneki, perhaps, though he won't even admit that to himself).
