X05 | Text | UN: D33
Given what you've experienced in this world, would you return to your own if given the choice?
text
not to mention i thought the general unease of this world was because of the situation of being pulled here but i think it's something else.
there's something fundamentally wrong with this timeline. in the air, in the ground, in the native people and animals. it's all wrong.

[Since when is Archie smart?]
I see.
[No, seriously. ???]
Wrong, you say.
[It almost seems like an obvious sort of observation, though...interesting, all the same. Something about the way Archie says it serves to enhance that "unease" in D33, in fact.]
How so, then?

could just be because i'm from a world where america doesn't exist or the politics that plague this place aren't a problem
but
everything here is artificial, fake
maybe i'm just used to things being more in harmony with nature and each other
i had to do something unforgivable to realise that back home
so it only makes it all the more glaring here

Clearly, they aren't. Nor are the powers that we possess or the non-humanoid creatures in this world.
Despite the fact that such things might have seemed nigh impossible to me in the past, even I have a hard time denying that they are quite real within this universe.
Of course, it can be hard to swallow, I understand.

its just like
there's a machine running but its missing a couple of gears, so its making a lot of noise, jerking and generally just working but not properly or well
no subject
[Though, he totally gets what you're trying to say. He's just mad that there's not a more concrete way to explain it. And that's what he's trying to get at, here.]
Do you sense some sort of instability about this world?
Related to the Porter, perhaps?
[Dylan "Why Can't Everything Just Be Black and White?" McAvoy.]
no subject
and yes
but that's probably because of the fucking cold war that's apparently going on
if you want to have a smaller scope: again, yes, and definitely because of the porter
it's all nice and fun having people writing articles about you and your boss but there's probably just as many, if not more, people who would prefer you and kaneki take a long walk off a short pier because you're imports
no subject
I don't see what Kaneki has to do with this, but I suppose you would be correct on that front.
Do you believe that it is the presence of ImPorts which is corrupting this world, then?
no subject
if you're in the public eye but associate with anyone else, then you drag them into it without meaning to
believe me, i want you and him to have a nice quiet life as much as you do
i don't know
maybe?
we're all from different worlds, i'm amazed there's no real scientific reason why this world hasn't like, collapsed in on itself.
like i'm not a scientist but i'm pretty sure physics doesn't really make sense here
even the weird powers pokemon have at home had SOME kind of reason for it, like an organ or whatever
i think maybe the cold war and import extremists are corrupting the world
i know more than most people how extremism, no matter how benign-seeming, can ruin everything from the ground up

I suppose that after a while I simply stopped questioning such discrepancies. Doing so seems rather useless given our situation.
[But, he did ask, so.]

no subject
[As if that isn't coming from the most biased person in the universe. "It's foolish to think otherwise", he almost adds, but he knows Archie won't want to hear it.]

no subject
[Much worse.]

What are you talking about?

[He also doesn't know that that's where his boyfriend disappeared to for several days - maybe don't tell him that?]
no subject

couldn't save him. sorry.

I suppose the same would go for you, then?
[The not being alright part, that is.]

You will recover in time.
[Yeah, that probably doesn't help.]
