[ Nothing to return to... his home had been destroyed. Even if he'd lived, that was gone, he was a traitor to the Empire. Perhaps he'd have joined the Rebels, or left. Either way, they'd probably look for him, still. ]

I think that there are a lot who would feel the same.

In that case, I suppose that I would quite understand their motivations for selecting this world when given the choice.

Do you find yourself in a similar situation, then?

Honestly? Yeah, I do. I don't know what I'd be going back to, and that's if I'd somehow made it - which I didn't.

It's a long story. The short of it, is that someone threw a grenade in my ship.

I suppose there would be little point in you returning to your own world, then.

Given that this world, then, grants you another chance to live, I would hardly understand any desire to leave.

You've friends here as well, you've said?

Yeah. Anyways I guess as far as places to wind up for a second chance, this one could be a lot worse.

[ save for the few bastards that seem to want to bring the war here with them, but -- ]

I do. They are in the same situation as me. I've also met people from the future that I wouldn't have got to, otherwise.

From the future of your own world, you mean?

[A future he, as he's said, would never have the chance to experience...

[That certainly does make things interesting.]

Future of my own world, yeah. Some are as far as thirty years.

[ Getting to know that they'd been successful, that there was an end to the war -- even if a new one arose not long after. ]

I have heard of such things occurring among other ImPorts, but I do find it quite fascinating that the Porter brings people about from different time periods given the same world.

I suppose it must be rather strange to speak with them given the circumstances.

I don't understand it, either.

It is strange. But I get to know things about the future that I otherwise wouldn't get to.

[Well, D33 would only suppose so, what with your being dead and all.]

I suppose such information could be quite valuable.

Have you found anything of interest?

[onlydoubts]

A bit, actually. Our deaths weren't in vain, and that there's an end to the war in the next five years.

Do you believe that your deaths led directly to that result?

[Five years is a long time to have died for, and D33 has little patience with the idea of dying on the behalf of strangers, but if Bodhi is going to claim that his death wasn't in vain, then he'd better have some sort of logic to back it up.]

Maybe not directly. We died in an efforts to destroy a weapon of the Empire. It had the power to destroy planets.
Without it, we certainly made it more difficult for them. A turning point,
I'm told.
