Freedom. Safety. An ability to travel anywhere instantly. Cute pets. Good food. Art. Music.

[And Hannibal strangely enough, but she won't type that.]

I wasn't aware that travel was something you were particularly interested in, Abigail.

[It's an interesting choice, he thinks, as far as traits of an ideal world go.]

I suppose you must find the use of the porter to be quite convenient, then.

That that allows us to travel between the Porter cities, that is.

I do. I've been to all the porter cities since I've been here.
I wish I could go to more places, anywhere in the world.

As have I and most of the other ImPorts, I would venture to guess.

Even without the use of the porter, with clearance from the government, I suppose you would be allowed to travel to most any place in this world.

Then again, I do understand that doing so would be much easier said than done.

Where do you suppose you would like to go?

I'd go to Italy and see the Norman chapel in Palermo.

What about you?

I haven't thought about it.

I, myself, have little interest in traveling. I am perfectly content to stay within the Porter cities.

Tell me more about this "Normal chapel".

[am_i_a_monster]

I think about travelling a lot. It makes me feel less trapped.

The Norman chapel is beautiful, like it's made out of art. It's full of mosaics. There's a painted wooden ceiling and painted floors. Lots of sculptures. It's Christian, but it was built by people of different faiths and cultures, so it looks really different from other chapels.

[Well, it's religious, so:]

I am afraid that I have little interest in such things.

You don't like art?

I suppose that I am rather inexperienced in the matter, but I do know that I have very little interest in any religious dealings.

[Foolishness, D33 thinks.]

[She smiles slightly, reminded of Hannibal's views on religion.]

A lot of old art is influenced by religion though. Would you visit a gallery?

As I've said, I have little interest in things influenced by concepts as foolish as religion regardless of where I might find them.

[am_i_a_monster]

You'll have a very limited life if you block out anything foolish.

So be it, then.

[He doesn't care how "limited" his life might be. D33 does not and will not do religion.

[Just don't tell him that most of the classical compositions he likes to listen to aren't secular.]

Guess I won't be able to talk you into running barefoot through sprinklers next summer.

That sounds ridiculous.

[So, no. Probably not. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.]

[D33 knows little of fun and he almost says so, but even he can understand how pathetic that probably sounds.]

We are hardly in need of such a thing given the season.

[Stick to hot chocolate and sweaters for now - D33 loves those things, at least.]

To look so far ahead into the future hardly makes sense anyway.

Ugly sweaters and snowball fights then.

I know it's hard to think of having a future. But at least it's possible here, you know?

It is only possible until the Porter decides that our purpose in this world has been served.

[Also, why wear a sweater if it's ugly?]

I don't know if I have a purpose. I'm not even sure if I want one. I just want to have a life. Maybe that's enough of a purpose for them.

I find that to be highly doubtful.

Yeah. Every day is still one more day than I would have had before, so that's something at least.
