It's less hateful toward me. I think the difference, honestly, is that we're new and novel. And the mutant population here is better behaved.

There's also the way mutation works. It manifests without prior warning in some cases,
turning what was once a 'normal' child into a potentially dangerous person. We're not a threat to their children, because they know their precious babies won't grow up into us.

I must admit, I was not aware that such mutation could manifest later in one's life.

I do see where that might be alarming to the non-mutant population.

There are certainly some natives who rather dislike ImPorts as well, though. Have you been so affected in that way?

That's totally fair. I mean, when I first manifested I tore a plane apart, mutant powers can be dangerous. But criminalizing and ostracizing mutants isn't an effective way to deal with this problem.

And no, I haven't dealt with it first hand, but my sister has.

It would seem that a great many mutants from your world have similar connections. I suppose the Porter must favor your kind in some way.

It's because my father gets around a lot. Or got around a lot? I don't know how much he sleeps around at this point, he's over ninety.

But yes, we tend to group up, it's safer to live together than alone. Sometimes.
