[Normally, D33 would cut the conversation to call Theon out as a fool right there, but.

[Well, he kind of likes Theon, despite his best intentions. And on some level, though he would never admit it, he can understand where the man is coming from. They both know now what awaits him upon his return.]

Unfortunate for you that such a luxury cannot be awarded in this world, I suppose.

[ Theon is struggling to find a purpose, struggling to forgive himself, and struggling to accept forgiveness from anyone else. It doesnt matter what happens to him here, because when he returns home, he'll still be knocked down to an even lower point. He doesn't know how to balance all of that, and thus he's become incredibly unhappy. ]

It's unfortunate for myself and for others from my home. In my world, the King in the North would have beheaded me by now. It's his right.

[His right? Maybe it's just D33's general dislike of "Kings", but something about that really doesn't sit well with him. It makes him a little angry, in fact (though, that's not necessarily on Theon's behalf - he's projecting).]

And what of your rights, Theon?

[ That's a very good question. From childhood to adulthood, Theon hadn't been offered a great deal of choices in his life. Does he even have any rights? Do they even matter now? He's drawing a blank. ]

What of them?

[d33tached]

[D33 can relate. And, in that, he doesn't really have much of an answer for Theon. But, he can say this.]

It is hardly any one man's right to behead you, Theon.

You bow to no King here.

[He shouldn't, anyway. Things are different here. D33 is still trying to learn that himself, though.]

[ The problem is that despite betraying him, Theon still feels a strong sense of loyalty towards Robb, and Robb has a strong sense of duty. Of course he does; he's the product of a Stark and a Tully. He would allow Robb his right, if they were still in Westeros. ]

I named him my King once.

This may not be our world, but it's still how we understand things to work. You needn't tell me I sound foolish. I already know.

[Well, Theon. You said it, not D33.]

So be it, then.

It isn't cowardice.

[ Just making sure you know, bro. ]

I did not think it such.

While I cannot necessarily sympathize with the impulse, [To want to die, that is.] I would not assume that it would come from a place of cowardice.

[Hopelessness, maybe. Now, that's something D33 can sympathize with. But for someone whose sole purpose in life has always been to survive, the thought of dying has done little more than terrified him.]

That does beg the question, however, of why exactly it is that you feel this way.

I don't know.

[ He really doesn't. It is hopelessness, but he doesn't know how to vocalize that. All he knows is that he would rather die whole and as Theon than as whatever Ramsay will carve him into. ]

It seems like the better course of action.

Given what you are to face upon your return, you mean?

Give a great deal of things.

[ Has he given up on trying to be happy? We just don't know. ]

[D33 sure as hell has.]

I take it you won't be elaborating upon that.

[ This is why they're sort of friends. They just don't talk about it. ]
