Have any of you taken the GED? Or--you know, whatever they call the test you take instead of going to high school. [If there is one--she's maybe just assuming there is one. It's asked by a teenager sitting at her desk, behind a pile of library books, a thick notebook, and a bunch of pens and highlighters.] How long did you have to study before you took it? I wanna get it over with, but I don't wanna have to retake it...

And every time I look through my science flashcards, I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep. [She smiles, a little sheepish.] But one of my books has a bunch of experiments in it, so maybe those'll help. Some of them look kind of cool--you can make plastic out of milk. And there's like a million different kinds of slime...

...If any of you are studying, too, maybe we could work together. It's more fun if you aren't the only one, right?

Oh--and I started a BlueTube channel, if you want something to watch. It's just songs and stuff, but it looks pretty cool. [Since, you know, she uses her powers on it.] And if you have any requests, I can try to learn them. The house is pretty quiet right now.

All kinds of stuff. I had to stop in tenth grade, so I have to catch up on everything. Biology, chemistry, trigonometry, who wrote what book when...

[Beth might not know it, but D33 spends a good twenty minutes or so looping "I'll Be Home for Christmas" before he finally bothers to respond. Music overall is something that he still has a hard time wrapping his head around, and seeing a fellow ImPort actually produce it has the same effect on D33 that a good magic trick would have on a small child. Of course, the illusions probably only aid in delivering that sort of wonder, but, truthfully, with the music playing, D33 hardly even notices them.]

I thought about it a little too, but I gave up. Studying was too hard. [Especially when he barely remembers the basic stuff from before his death.] Do you think someone who doesn't read real well could do it?

[She thinks about it, genuinely considers it, before she answers.] I think you'd have to be able to read pretty well to take the tests. But you could work on the reading, right?

Studying can take quite a bit of effort but the results are always gratifying. They say that finding associations help remember details. The memory will become stronger with a related action. So I would recommend trying those experiments.
