Are there really people out there able to read this? I still find that difficult to believe, but even so... I suppose I just need to have a little faith.
In any case, I'm hoping that someone will have some good suggestions for me. I'd like to learn more about this world. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. The kind of place that it's hard to picture anyone even dreaming up, but here it is!
I've already given up on the idea that this is some fever dream, so I'd like to know where the best libraries this world has to offer are. A school would do too. If there are any willing to take on a student at my age, that is.
[There's a pause of a few minutes before she replies to her own post with another comment.]
And if you don't know anything about this world either, you can tell me about your own instead.

You'll find a great deal of information regarding this world in the FAQ compiled by Kaneki Ken.
As far as libraries go, I have found the one in Maurtia Falls to be quite favorable. Their selection of literature is quite vast, and they offer musical CDs and film DVDs as well.

I've been assigned to Maurtia Falls, so I'm glad to hear the library here is well-stocked,
but... What is a CD? Or a film?
no subject
A CD is a small disc that contains musical selections. You can listen to such things on your communicator without the aid of a disc as well.
[Now, as for movies.]
Films are quite strange. I was unfamiliar with them as well when I first arrived. They take stories, many from books that already exist, and create scenes from them using real people. These scenes are filmed using a camera, but rather than producing stationary pictures, it captures live scenes so that one may watch them later using a television and a DVD player.
A DVD is also a disc, though films are stored there in place of music.
It's quite incredible, really. Even the most outlandish of stories can be made into films and rather convincing films at that.
They can also be made with illustrations, though those become animated as well.

Amazing! It's as if I have the power of a god at my fingertips. Was it really people who created this?

I do suggest Heropa library as well, though. It's wonderful, big and very resourceful. Though I'm certain there are plenty of schools that will take students regardless of age.
no subject
And Heropa... That's the one that was near the laboratory I arrived in, correct?
no subject
Yes. The Porter is in Cape Canaveral, and Heropa was built right next to it as a city where imPorts could live.

The libraries in each imPort city are well worth looking into, I find. But this wonderful contraption called the internet is what I've used for most of the every day inventions and ideas. It's hard to find a cohesive material from library about the culture of today unfortunately.
And the internet has a whole wealth of other interesting materials such as archives of cat pictures and something called memes that combine pictures with witty texts. Both surprisingly entertaining.
I wish you happy hunting,
Professor Charles Xavier

Everyone seems quite familiar with this internet, but you're the first to mention these memes. And cats, whatever those are. There are so many things to learn about. I can only hope I catch up quickly, but considering it's my first day here I'd like to think I'm doing well so far. And all the suggestions everyone has offered so far are quite helpful.
Thank you, Charles Xavier. I wish you well with your pursuits as well.

If it's your first day, you sure have taken a big leap already. The network community seems quite friendly in terms of help and education of fellow imPorts. I do hope you will find what you are looking for.
Did you say you're unfamiliar with cats?

TEXT.
Any age, that is. Well, unless you're a child. You're not, are you? Although actually, sometimes even if you are a child. I don't know, it's a whole thing.
[ ... Anyway. ]
First time on the internet, huh? Don't even worry, we've all been there.
no subject
It's been decades since I could be called a child, but the world I came from is...quite a bit behind this one. [ To put it lightly. ]
That is some reassurance. Hopefully I'll be used to it soon.

There's a lot of community resources, depending on the city you're in. You can travel between them, of course, but...that might be a little disconcerting at first.

As for the libraries, Maurtia Falls has a massive one. It's really beautiful and has just about anything you could hope for. I can look more into the school thing, since I'm not entirely sure. What are you hoping to study? Anything in particular?
no subject
As for studies, I'm most interested in medicine and surgery. It should be the most useful.
