VIDEO | Forward-dated to tomorrow
[ The feed clicks onto Erik, sitting in an office. ]
Good afternoon and Happy New Year, imPorts. I'd like to take the opportunity to remind you all that voting for the Maurtia Falls election is today. Personally, I’ll be returning to the polls after this to hand these out.
[ He pulls briefly at the “I Voted” sticker on his chest. ]
Many things have happened in the last few months - not all of them good. Although I think we've reached a unanimous agreement that extreme caution should be taken in contacting the porter, I believe now more than ever we must find alternative manners to research its history and mechanics. As of now, there are more than a few ideas of paths forward, and I want to create a more open forum for its discussion in order to ensure-- and reassure-- the safest possible outcome.
[ But enough about current news, let’s segue into some programs: ]
During the De Chima election, The Foundation and I were in the final stages of creating a facility with which to train individuals on honing their powers. The Danger Room is now open to the public, and I highly encourage you all to visit, utilize the facility, and leave suggestions for improvement.
I have always been a proponent for the betterment of our quality of life, and following the success of the Danger Room, I have several project proposals of interest. The first is a volunteer network to pair settled imPorts with new arrivals in order to help them adjust to the new environment. The second is a career placement board, where imPorts can be matched to positions that highlight their skills and own personal interests. Lastly, I'd like to propose funding for an insurance program for unregistered minors, many of whom come from extreme circumstances and should not be denied healthcare, housing, or education.
Whether or not you agree with my politics or my ideas, I hope that all of you have been inspired by at least one of the candidates. Regardless of your choice, the De Chima election brought out record numbers of voters, and I hope for the same kind of turnout and fervent interest in choosing your representatives today.

[ a dry drawl, but yes, he voted (sticker hanging out on his cheek currently), and it was for erik, because he's about the only person on that candidate list he trusts to have half a brain. ]
Re: video;
And no, the funds for that will most likely partially come out of my pocket. So I'll be paying for your insurance for the foreseeable future.

[Voice]
[There's a pause before he clarifies,] I'm new so I don't know if I know enough about any candidate to vote. I just want to know for reference, if that makes sense.

And I had been considering working on a program that pairs experienced imPorts with newer ones, though I admit I'm more concerned with those who are experienced with their powers rather than necessarily those who have been here a long time.
[ She seems genuinely interested; she's not here to pick apart his platform. She's more interested in picking his brain no matter what the outcome is. ]
Re: video
Then, really, anyone can enter to practice a given scenario.
It's built to withstand quite a lot of damage, though obviously its immersive properties are not as impressive to those with telekinetic or technokinetic powers.
I'm curious to hear more about your program. Maybe if one of us win, the other could take over the other part of it.

[She looks EXTREMELY INTERESTED. Also, her mun looks interested in an open log sort of thing.]
Re: video;
[ OoC: There hasn't been an official log since it opened in August, it's an established but apparently very badly-marketed setdrop so people are just kind of allowed to use it like ... pizza place, movie theater, library, danger room ]

Danger Room, huh? I jes showed up, but trainin' ain't never a bad idea.
An' that career placement soun's like a damn good idea, fer what it's worth.
[Because like hell is he hosting a cowboy themed comedy show.]

Re: [Video]
And yes, they're built to withstand a multitude of powers, though I have been meaning to ask for volunteers to test for quality assurance and diversify the types of damages it can handle.
