So I know that there's a lot of talk about how our situation is here.
Not everyone is happy about the way things are here -- and I know there are things I'd like to change too. When I was the Mayor of the City, one of the things that I was always impressed by, is how well we could come together, and how many great ideas imports as a whole could come up with. We have different experiences, and different solutions to the problems we're facing. Everyone can bring something to the table, I've gathered, and I don't want us to be miserable here.
I don't think any of us do. I'm supposed to be your representative, but having a direct line to the problems we're facing is a little more difficult than it was here in the City, after all, I don't really have the same availablility that I did as mayor to field your questions or problems -- and I certainly don't have all of the answers here, either.
But that doesn't mean that we're lost, and it doesn't mean we can't figure things out. I managed to get my hands on a local hall -- it's just a rec center, but it's something. I've only got it for Friday, but what I'd like to do is invite everyone down there -- as many people as want to come. We all know the major problems, they're easy to identify, but I can't approach them without solutions, and I want to hear what you all have for solutions, before I take them to our government.
I'll make sure there are plenty of posters around, and there might be a free PSA or two on the radio that I can arrange, but I'd recommend if you want to see some change, come down to the local rec center on Friday evening. We'll talk things over, and see if we can't get some solutions going.

Will there at least be food?

Hah, sorry, unless everyone wants to pitch in and bring something, there won't be food. I blew most of my savings on the hall.

A...very good idea. Are there perhaps options for those of us who will be unable to attend in person but would wish to perhaps teleconference in?
