[ Blind guy and green girl are sitting together today, holding hands. Awww. They look so happy. Everyone be jealous of them, go on.
Blind guy speaks up first. ]
Hey everyone. So, uh, we’ve decided something recently, but we might need a little help figuring out how to pull it off.
[ He’ll let Hera tell them what it is, nudging her gently. ]
Well, after all our years together… Kanan and I have decided to make our relationship a little more official.
[ She gently picks up his hand in hers, squeezing it slightly. ]
We’re engaged! And, well, we can’t exactly do the marriage ceremony from my homeworld here.
[ Looking at Kanan- want actually ask the question, partner-in-crime of hers? ]
[ Kanan is trying not to beam. Keep it cool, Jarrus. ]
And the Jedi don’t have marriage traditions. So - we were sort of wondering how it’s done on this planet. Or on your own worlds. How do people get married? We watched a holovid - “27 Dresses”? It made the whole thing seem pretty scary, but Earth customs can’t all be that bad, right?
[ Hera nods] We haven’t set a date yet, so we have plenty of time to figure this out, right?
[ ooc note: orange text is Kanan, green text is Hera. If you want to specify who you want to reply, feel free, otherwise you'll likely get responses from both! ]

Having listened to you both up in space, I'm not surprised, but... wow, congratulations! Either way I'm happy for you both.

[ Well. Sort of. He grins a little. ]
Thanks, Bodhi.

[ he's teasing, okay. he really is happy for them, though. and can't help but wonder if Jyn (with her memories intact) and Cassian were still here, if they ever would have done the same.
right. ]
Of course. I don't know a lot about Earth traditional weddings, but I've seen some holos on it. If you need anything, I'd gladly help.

What do you mean, Jedi don't have marriage traditions? [Darth Vader got married! Most likely, anyway.] Is it 'cause of the whole—there's no more Jedi left thing? [He's trying as hard as he can not to let on just where he's heard the word before, it's just that he's not at all subtle about it.]
I dunno if Earth traditions are all that exciting, but I do remember this old rhyme, for what the bride's supposed to wear—"something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue".

[ Don't worry Dustin she's not going to get eaten by a Rancor!!
Still, a fleeting moment of concern crosses her face, and she'll look at Kanan to answer that one.
No more Jedi left? Certainly, after Order 66, there were only a handful left- Kanan among them. Ezra joining as a padawan earlier. Yoda, possibly Kenobi- if Dustin knows their future, certainly all of them aren't gone, right?]
.... Why something blue?

[ There's not anymore, so - meh! ]
She's supposed to wear all that at once? That seems... excessive.

Hera already asked Master Kenobi if he'll officiate. He - said he would.
[ So, there's that? ]

In my world, there would be a wedding feast. A huge feast with many courses. [ There's a pause. ] If you are rich, that is.

[ There's a soft shake of her head, laughing softly ]
Weddings between clans are a huge affair. The ceremony's short but the celebrations can sometimes last for days. I'm sure we'll be keeping some of those aspects.

[ She gives them a huge smile. ]
And I guess it depends on how big you want the ceremony to be. Or how many people you want to invite. Usually, the couple write their own vows and say them to each other.

[ Kanan's grinning pretty widely as well. ]
And, I don't know. We've got quite a few friends here, I think. That's the point of doing this, right? To celebrate with our friends?

And I guess it couldn't hurt to know about Naboo's traditions. We'll probably do as much of the Rylothi traditions as we can, but we can't do it all - no ancestral skulls around here, for one thing.

It would be greatly appreciated. The Rylothi customs are... complicated, especially being so far from home. I'd love to hear about your own customs.
