Hello! I received very much quality advice from my last Internet posting. Merci beaucoup. I seek more now.

My fathers and I are looking at different sorts of school and skills and, [an aristocratic little hem, because this is So Gauche, but] jobs. But there does seem so much to choose from. On advice of one of the local people, I tried to take an "online quiz," which was supposed to narrow it down. Instead the entire screen turned violently blue and there was a horrible screeching and the machine hasn't turned on since.

I would like to know how you all found your vocational calling. And the Universal Resource Locator of your preferred career match "quiz."

Are you telling a joke? About the butcher stuff. I'm hard-pressed to imagine anybody would have wanted their child to become a butcher. All those flies.

Nah, it won't, I took the test myself to check. And, uh—the screaming's kind of a problem, when it comes to computers, so you should probably go get it fixed by someone who knows how to fix them.

I've held many positions in my time. Most of them I just sort of fell into, but the best ones were the ones I made for myself.

Like the work I do now, here. I saw a need in our community, and I started a company to fill that need.

I've never really been the type to settle down for one job in one place for too long. S'why I became an adventurer! And back home I was training kids to become adventurers too, sorta passing on the tradition to the next generation.

I can't help ya with the online quiz... The only one o' those I ever took was "which mythological creature are you?" Told me I was a nymph! Can you see me, as a nymph? I don't think so!

I was pretty destined to join the family business as soon as I was born. For a while I considered doing my own thing, but in the end, I wound up in the family business after all.

In my old world, I spent a lot of time learning piano, calligraphy, painting, history. That sort of thing. I suppose I did it because they wanted me to... and I've missed it a bit. Is that what you mean? I have heard that being 'an artist' is erm. A sort of job...

Uhm. Most public schools have general education, but if you want to go more specialized there are vocational schools, schools for the arts...plenty of choices. It's the choosing that's hard though.

I learned by doing. If there was something I wanted to do, or was interested in, then I did it. If it wasn't my thing I stopped doing it. Kinda turned me into a Swiss-army knife of human experiences I guess.

You're young yet though, you've got plenty of time.

[It's a very accurate nickname, to be fair. There's a brief instant where Claudia is self-conscious about it, touches her hair. But she remembers that her frustration with her own locks had existed entirely in her own mind-- Lestat had never actually teased her about it. She's good at inventing insults leveld at herself, that's all.]

Errrm. What's a Swiss Army knife? I know I could look it up, but it's still a bit onerous to press the right Resource Locators for the right amount of time.
