Hey. My sister, Sarissa Theron, went home about a month ago. I waited a while thinking she might come back, but it's looking like that won't happen. I know she had a lot of friends here, so I thought I'd let everyone know. [ This all sounds pretty rehearsed, because she doesn't trust herself to go off script right now. Once it's done, though, she doesn't seem to know how to sign off. ]

[They weren't the closest of friends, but, they've hung out before.]

[Maybe she wants to be left alone, but, Daisy offers anyway. Just in case.]

[ And the following night, Sarah does show up at Daisy's. She's wearing jeans instead of leather pants. That's "comfortable," right? ]

[Lucy can be heard barking right behind the door as soon as Sarah rings the bell. Daisy was definietly a lot more comfortable in pajama shorts and a long sleeved shirt as she opens the door, nudging Lucy back with her leg.]

Hey come in.

[Grabbing hold of Lucy's collar, Daisy holds her back out of the way.]

Sorry, are you okay with dogs? I probably should've asked that.

[she smiles faintly, expression clouded with sympathy.]

I'm sorry to hear of your sister. [a slight pause, nodding.] I...I know what it's like, having family swept away from you. Even here. And...I know the struggle in waiting, wondering.

If you would wish to see her here again, then...I'll hope she returns for you. There's always a chance here, it seems. Even the wildest of chances.

[coppelganger]

Oh... thanks. I appreciate it.

[ She shrugs. ] Knowing her, she'll show up tomorrow just to make me look like an idiot.

[fauxmarth]

[her shoulders go up in turn, still smiling weakly.]

Of all outcomes...perhaps that's hardly the worst of them, right?

Yeah, it'd be pretty fitting.

[fauxmarth]

It's a nice thing to hope for. And there's always a chance. Only...[er.] there...doesn't seem to be much precision to the odds here... So I've little certainty to offer.

[coppelganger]

No. Still, a chance is better than nothing.

[ And she can't really go into more detail without giving away the fact that they're not really sisters, or even from the same universe. ]

[fauxmarth]

[look, a family can be two people from entirely different dimensions. ask comics.]

That's right. And she'll want you to carry on all the same, I'm sure.

Yeah, she would. Will.

[fauxmarth]

[firm nod.]

Will. She may be absent for a time here, but not utterly gone.

Lucina. [a lil' head bow.] I'm sorry our meeting comes from less than ideal circumstances, but...all the same. If I can be of any help, do let me know.

[ She doesn't know how this person could possibly help, but it's good to branch out. ]

[Ten or so minutes after the video goes up, Sarah's phone is ringing.]

Are you at home? I've canceled everything for the day.

[However much she misses Sarissa - if something like that is quantifiable - she knows that Sarah's heartache eclipses hers in this moment.]

[coppelganger]

You didn't need to do that, Alison. But I'm home.

[subourbon]

What do you want to eat tonight? I'll pick up some things before I head back.

[coppelganger]

Bourbon.

[subourbon]

[There's a pause on the other end before Alison starts speaking again in what she assumes is a delicate tone.]

Are you sure that's the best idea?

[coppelganger]

[ Ugh, Alison! ]

What? It was a joke.

[subourbon]

Well, I can just never be sure! Sometimes it's hard to tell when you're being serious.

[She's never had a knack for it the way Sarissa and Cosima do, which is probably just going to make these next few weeks that much harder on them both.]

[coppelganger]

Just assume I'm joking all the time, then.

[subourbon]

[There is just the smallest of sighs before Alison speaks again.]

Anyway, I'll be home within the hour.

[coppelganger]

Okay, Alison. See you soon.

[Alison had every intention of making a decent, comforting meal for Sarah, try to help her feel a little better if that was a possibility. But after twenty minutes of staring blankly down grocery aisles, the reality of everything started to set in. MK was gone, Sarissa was gone, and so was Cosima, probably. She left the store with nothing but a frozen pizza and a tub of ice cream.

When she arrives back at their house in Nonah, she at least puts the pizza in the oven before announcing her presence.]

Sarah?

[coppelganger]

[ Sarah is lying on the couch, looking up at the ceiling, when Alison comes in. She props herself up on one elbow when she hears the front door opening. ]

Hey.

[subourbon]

[What Alison wants to say is "Please tell me you haven't been lying there all day." What she actually says is:]

Hello, Sarah. How are you feeling?

[coppelganger]

I'm fine.

[ And for your information, Alison, she hasn't been lying here all day! Just all evening. God. ]

How are you?

[subourbon]

[Alison shrugs as she goes to put the ice cream into the freezer.]

I don't know. I guess we knew it was a possibility.

[coppelganger]

I didn't think it would really happen.

[ With that, Sarah drops back down on the couch. ]

I'm sorry. She was a cool person with a cooler accent. At least you get to see her when you go back to your Earth, right?

Maybe you'll see her again. I was here and left a couple of times ... and here I am! She'll come back. She's too aggressively persistent to not want to come back.

[ A soft laugh. ]

Yeah, she is. She'd come back after I made this video just to make me look stupid.

[accelerate]

In your defense, she's stupid for missing out making a cameo.

[ barry's face scrunches up. ] On second thought, I have a feeling that'd be a good thing. I could never tell if she was making fun of me or if she was angry with me. Must've been the accent.

[ maybe if they insult sarissa enough, she'll come back to defend herself ... that's great logic, right? ]
