[ Luke looks a little nervous when he pops up on the network, and he takes a deep breath, before forcing himself to start before he can change his mind. ]

Hi, everyone. I'm Luke Skywalker; I was training to be a Jedi Knight back home, before coming here. But... since coming here, I've been questioning... a lot, about the training I've received.

So, since there are so many of us here from various points in time, I want to hear your stories: legends, teachings -- anything you've heard about the Force, either side of it, I want to hear it all. Even if you're not a Force user yourself, I want to hear anything you may have heard, even if it's just unsubstantiated rumors. There's something important I'm trying to find, and the more information I have, the better.

[ He paused a moment, biting his lip. ]

I know this is public, but aimed at a certain group. I apologize, but I know there are others from my reality that I haven't met yet, and this was the best way I could think of to reach everyone.

[ He paused again, but this time a small smile came to his face. ]

Though, as I understand it, our lives are a... moovee? For some worlds. Hearing stories from people that are completely removed from our galaxy would be helpful as well.

[ He had seen the introductions of their new Sith Lords, but had kept his distance then, already still too involved with what he was trying to sort out in his own head to worry about other issues. They seemed... mild? In comparison to Sith he knew, so he doubted they would be much of a problem. ]

That's fine; it's not just Jedi Lore I want to know.

Legends are stories we tell to convey our understanding if the universe to each other. When I was growing up in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, most of the stories I knew fell into two broad categories: there were the heroic tales of Jedi who overcame great obstacles, stopped evil Sith and protected the innocent. And then there were the cautionary tales about Jedi who started out with the best of intentions, only to see those intentions twisted or their own inability to master themselves leading them to the Dark Side.

But those were stories for kids, intended to simplify a complex universe. What is it you seek from these stories?

[ He paused a moment, his face scrunching up as he struggled with a way to describe what he was looking for. He finally let out a breath, shoulders sagging. ]

I'm... just looking for something, but I don't think I'll know what that is until I find it.

Yeah, Master Yoda always favored the cautionary ones, as I recall. Understandable, given how easy it can be to give yourself over to the Dark.

[ He considers for a moment, his head tilted to one side, almost as if he's listening to something no one else can hear. ]

Can I tell you about something that happened to me, personally? It's not a legend, but it was pretty interesting.

Wait, you know about those? [Damn, and here's Dustin trying to keep the movies on the down-low.] I don't know if what I have is all that helpful, the movies didn't really go into detail about the Jedi. Before I got here it was just you, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda.

[A beat.]

And I guess Darth Vader too.

You're not the first person to imply they already knew of me without being from my galaxy.

[ Though that list of Force users makes him pause. ]

...there was no mention of the Emperor?

I thought I was doing pretty good on downplaying the implying. [He huffs out a breath.] How'd you feel finding out about them?

[He shakes his head, looking deeply disgusted. Ugh. The Emperor.] The Emperor's an asshole of the highest order, he's this really creepy old guy in a bathrobe who can also incidentally fire lightning at people. [A beat.] I was just talking about the Jedi I know about, off the movies. The Emperor counts as a Force user in general, though, since that's what you were looking for.

I don't know anything about the Force, but I've had a couple people tell me I remind them of Jedi.

[ Anderson is a soft-faced, composed young woman with a steady voice, and even at first glance it's not hard to see where the comparison might arise. ]

[faithfulson]

Yeah, I can see why others would make that comparison.

[ He's a little jealous; if calm and serenity were the paths to the light, she seemed like she would be able to walk them easily. ]

[ She doesn't know enough about Jedi to fully get what it's supposed to mean, and if she did, she'd probably refuse the compliment, honestly. Anderson has been forced through adversity to learn how to hide her feelings, to maintain a professional stoicism befitting a Judge, but it isn't something that comes totally naturally to her. She's a person of strong emotion and conviction, and at times she struggles intensely with what she's required to do as a Judge. In short, she has her own doubts about her calling.

Her eyebrows raise slightly. ] Thanks, I think. I don't know much about it. What is it you've been dissatisfied with in your training?

[ That's a personal, blunt question, but as a psychic she's used to knowing details about people that others aren't privy to, and it gives her a particular kind-hearted directness. ]

There is more diversity of thought amongst the Sith than your training will have taught you. More than your era reflects.

The dark side provides a means to master the self, that is open to all. Force sensitivity is not required to benefit and impel action, but it will alter your relation to the dark.

[faithfulson]

...that sounds like a recruitment ad, you know.

[ Sorry, but he couldn't help the sarcastic comment. ]

Can you explain what you mean by diversity?

I am not interested in acquiring another apprentice.

The Sith of your time subscribe to a single philosophy. They desire personal power above all else, engage in the glorification of death, and present their techniques as the only option for accessing the dark. This is not the case. The Sith Code is intentionally vague. The Sith Empire contains dozens of schools of thought, and its archives hundreds more to draw from.

Your time has seen a diminution of scholarship and critical thought regarding the dark side. I suspect the Jedi Order's greater numbers played a role in this, but the Sith codified their weakness and inflexibility in the Rule of Two.

I was greatly disappointed to learn of this after my arrival. [Regardless, his voice has remained utterly emotionless.]

i guess i should admit that youre in a movie back home for me too 8'( i wasnt hiding it, it just felt rude to say something about it

ftr tho if it really happened the way the movies showed i dont like the way obi-wan and yoda were training you anyway
it seemed like they were just really focused on teaching you how to fight
i guess its important there since your galaxy is really dangerous!!
but i think theres a lot more to it and it just felt manipulative to me

[ ...oh. Well. He thought Josh was shy; it didn't occur to him that he was already familiar with him through video. That did explain... quite a bit, though. ]

You're echoing the thoughts I've had since I met my mother and father here.

The more I learn about how the Jedi used to be, before the fall of the Republic, the more I feel as if I was trained just for the purpose of killing my father.

I don't want to believe that's true, but knowing what happens in both my immediate and distant future after this place, it at least makes me question their intentions.

You're asking for a lot of information. Are you sure what you are asking will help narrow down your questions you already have?

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the questions and try to work them out as they come? [A pause, then...] What I am saying is, what are you Questioning? Maybe we can work from Lore from there.

That's... that's the thing, Ahsoka. I'm questioning all of it. The teachings, the separation of light and dark...

[ He trailed off, before letting out a soft breath. ]

...how if someone is inclined to certain emotions, they're only set on one path.

[ Hi dad; Luke offered him a bit of a sheepish smile, like he had just gotten caught stealing cookies instead of actively asking Sith and Jedi both for their stories and teachings. ]

There's a lot I'm questioning; right now I'm just gathering information, and going from there.

You know, I've never thought to ask before—what's it like knowing your lives have been entertainment for some people? Do you know how much people have seen?

It was odd at first, but after arriving in an alternate reality, finding out that your own holds influence over other realities, however small, isn't all that shocking.

It's too bad no one has a copy of the film. Or maybe it's a good thing, depending how you feel about watching it. I wouldn't be able to help myself.
