Greetings.
[ For the first time Thrawn is not in the sitting room of #7. He's actually holding his phone so you get a closeup shot instead. ]
Since the recovery of data from South America, there have been messages sent to a planet within this solar system and while there has been further discussion regarding it, I would prefer to consolidate what facts there are. The most expedient way is to simply ask publicly. Therefore I ask: without interstellar transport, is there a proposed method for leaving this planet's gravity well?
Again, thank you for your time.
[Private message for 622]
Sergeant, please report to me here now that I have changed residences.

Sergeant, please report to me here now that I have changed residences.

Grand Admiral.
I am Darth Marr.
[How did the Empire of the future get an alliance with the Ascendancy and why wasn't it mentioned anywhere... or was this something else?]
I have nothing to share in regards to reaching other planets in this system, but I do look forward to seeing a Chiss military mind in action. Aside from drawing out ideas, what role will you take in such a mission, should one prove feasible.
video ; private
As it was more about data gathering before my role was simply that. I believe there are only a few in the Porter cities that have experience with interstellar travel, however. My ability to find safe passage even in unfamiliar star maps would prove useful.
There is still much to be done before such a journey would be possible.
video ; private
My own experience with interstellar travel is extensive. For many years I spent more time on a ship than I did on the surface of a planet.
[Marr almost sounds nostalgic.]

[ Thrawn is unimpressed with most of them, and it shows in his expression. ]
Any supplies would have to be found through them. As well as any additional data. I am dubious of any possible involvement, though.
video ; private
Though any data from this country's government agencies, or government supplies, yes.
[He is also very skeptical of the local government.]
What is your assessment of the ambassadors, both of the position's opportunities and the utilization by the people currently occupying them.
video ; private
As for the ambassadors, I am only familiar with one. Many have been recently elected, thus I have not had an opportunity to study their behavior. The one that I am most familiar with is Padme Amidala. She has something of an idealist streak, but she has proven herself quite capable. Not the least of which is her ability to deal with the friction between imPorts and natives.

[Especially the government. He spent too long as part of the Sith Empire's government to feel otherwise.]
I am vaguely familiar with her. Capable idealists have their place, and that is a useful area of competence. We can only push so far before native opinion turns against us. Favorable public opinion is important.
[Marr has done a bit of research on his own, but not delved too deeply into the available information.]
video;
[And he's received a report from someone that's left him worried. One of his copies is off with one of Dameron's. They've requested he come meet them. Admittedly, checking in with the Grand Admiral now provides an excuse to answer in the negative.]
There are six of me as of the 14th. Five of us are functioning as a squad. Should we report in together?
video;
No. Just you will be enough.
video --> action
[TK-622-03 through 06 interpret this as meaning they should follow, but wait outside. Despite the worry over what these copies mean and what might happen with them, having them around has made him able to sleep almost all the way through the night, knowing someone is on watch. It's been comforting to have other clones around, even though it's not quite the same as back in the Empire.
He arrives in armor, clean and well-kept as he can make it. Despite his power's ability to restock his kit, the armor keeps coming back with the same scratches scored into it. The reminders of how he got them on his last day on the DS-1 are... not welcome.
Pushing those thoughts aside, he presses the door chime and waits for permission to enter.]

There is an imPort from our shared galaxy who has demonstrated the ability attain extra-atmospheric flight in local aircraft. If he can be recruited, I may be able to create a sufficient life support system to facilitate the journey.
[He has been watching the network, compiling notes. There is a piece of information he has not been able to find. Despite their temporal separation, it would still be instructive to know.]
What is your full name?
video; private
That would answer the question of escaping the gravity well but would the need for further fuel be too much weight for such rudimentary technology?
[ His name wasn't some secret, either. ]
It is usually considered polite to give your name before asking another's.

I am Darth Jadus. Your core name has appeared in public documents I was directed to. Is this a choice of preference or a concession to alien species' unfamiliarity with Cheunh?
[Humans tended to think of anything that was not themselves as alien. They often forgot that other species might do the same.]
no subject
[ Well, it was surprising that anyone had made the distinction. ]
The latter. It is easier for most to simply say 'Thrawn'. But I am Miith'raw'nurudo.
no subject
Mitth'raw'nuruodo, then. [The pronunciation is still heavily tinged with the accent of the Sith Empire, but he is not completely unfamiliar with Chiss names.] My grasp of the language is minimal. Your ancestors were also admirably careful in their dealings with aliens, despite their alliance with the Sith Empire. Only a few Families openly participated. I am surprised House Mitth has since become more involved in foreign affairs.
[He had assumed internal politics or demographic pressures had made the alliance with aliens seem necessary, much as it had for the Empire. The Ascendancy was otherwise a far more cautious entity. Or perhaps, as the Empire had, they were preparing for something.]

I am, perhaps, not the best example of the current Ascendancy
[ Being in exile tends to have that effect. ]
I am starting to believe that Porter technology was employed to bring the necessary construction materials from this planet to the new one. Short of a two-year journey at sublight speeds, it is the only explanation.
no subject
[Strivers, secret agents and exiles. He had to acknowledge, it was not possible to build an accurate picture of the Chiss as a whole from what the Empire saw.]
Implying the ability to study and alter its function. And yet it has defended itself from insult in the past, most recently via time distortion. [He had been repeatedly admonished against desiring to tamper with the Porter, despite displaying no interest in doing so. Why should he bother? He had no understanding of how to productively alter it. Studying its outputs was more fruitful.]
no subject
The Porter is inhabited by a lifeform. I think the recent time distortion was an act of self-preservation since corporeal lifeforms would be necessary to do what incorporeal lifeforms could not. Unfortunately, there has been little useful study of the Porter as it often causes injury or the loss of consciousness for the one that attempts to communicate. This may be involuntary, it is unclear.

Let us hope someone figures out what you need to make this happen, then.

[ Adachi gave the blue guy a shrug. ]
Considering there are people that managed to build a colony on the moon with a porter to get up there, it's not too much of a stretch to believe that they could also manage to build spacecraft. It's just a matter of waiting and offering help if you know how it all works.
The true question becomes how do we, as imPorts, likewise travel there?
I mean, there are a few space people around, like Dooku. I'm sure someone can figure it out.

As things stand, I would be interested in your insight on some matters in the future, once things become more clear.
As for your question, I do not yet have an answer.

I find myself questioning the native government, however. Surely they are aware of the possibility of other missiles?

[Hal angles his phone so he can show a construct bubble tethered to him which shows how it'd work.]

[ Space questions are momentarily forgotten in favor of curiosity. ]

[It's not an exaggeration, he's limited only by his imagination.]
