[ He pauses, trying to figure how to do this in an order that makes the most sense. ] Uhh, a record is when bands make a copy of their songs so that people can listen to them whenever they want. A classic's a song or singers that became really famous, so most people who know their music will recognize them. The seventies are a period in history -- specifically, the decade after 1970. That was more than fifty years ago, so any songs people still remember from back then are definitely classics.

So it's... popular music that everyone enjoys, from a long time ago. And the records let you listen to it whenever you feel like it.

That's right. You'd need something to play 'em with too, though, especially if you've got older ones.

Just to see what everyone thinks of it. There are many different versions, so I was curious. [ yes, good excuse ]

Yeah, about the only thing people ever agree on about Paradise is that it's some place they wanna be. [ A beat. ] Eventually, anyway. Most people aren't in a hurry to die.

Yeah, guess so. My grandma was pretty religious, so I always heard that kinda stuff growing up.
