[That's... certainly a codename she's got there.] Mostly about organizational structure, ma'am. I want to be doing something useful and helping maintain order, but I have certain limitations on how I can contribute. I was created to function in a highly regulated environment.

[That kind of statement usually gets people sidetracked here on asking him all sorts of questions, but he feels it's best to be up front about it. Trying to act independently has been slowly wearing him down, and he doesn't want to get stuck doing more of it.]

I'm mostly trying to get a sense of organizational structure. So much of the imPort response to threats seems to be ad hoc and individual. I'm hoping a group might provide a more regulated environment.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's not much structure to speak of right now. RISE isn't a big team, and we're going through a... reorganization right now. Part of the reason we're trying to change things up is to provide more of a structure. Improvising on the fly can only do so much.

If there's any way I can help, I want to. We need to be more united if we're going to have any hope of eliminating threats to this planet. [Not just reacting, but actually doing something.]

Eliminating them might be a tall order. At this point, I'd settle for just lowering the body count.

[Sadly, that's probably the most realistic.] One step at a time.

Three years of continuous deployment and nine training for it. Got experience with counter-insurgency and urban combat tactics. [And more from other assignments, but the stuff from Ralltiir is probably the most relevant. Majority-human population, heavily urbanized with rural outlying areas, combating an irregular force that would target them any way it could.]

I'll bet you know plenty about straight-up combat. But what about law enforcement? Or rescue work? It isn't all firefights, here.

Not our primary ops, but what I don't know I'm willing to learn. My commander did a lot of civilian outreach. I'd like to keep following his lead when possible.

Sounds like a good guy. If you keep the focus on serving civilians, I'm sure you'll do him proud.

I had a great commanding officer too, back home. I'm trying to follow her example in handling this stuff.

The best officer I've ever served under. About as close to an ideal commander as I'm ever going to meet. [He was more confident in that than anything else.

And... Akobi had said he was proud of him. He was going to hold onto that, and make sure not to prove him wrong.]

It's always good to have an officer you can emulate as a role model. I'm sure she taught you well.

I learned a lot from her. Not just combat or fitness, but... how to make the hard choices. And how to walk away when the time is right.

Don't have one, really. Back in Cerberus, I was just an 'Operative.' Second in command of the Lazarus Cell. Here, I'm assistant Commander for RISE.

I was offered a promotion to Lieutenant before I left the Marines, but... I decided to go down a different path.
