[The person that appears on the screen is horned, covered in dark bronze scales, and has a sizeable set of wings folded behind his back. He also speaks in an accent that's almost something eastern european, but not quite.]

I didn't miss anything crazy in the past month and a half, did I? Well, relatively crazy for this universe. The new imPorts will learn quickly what I mean.

[Either from word of mouth or something actually happening in the next month or so. He smiles wryly, though it might be hard to tell for people not used to reading dragonish facial expressions.]

This time, they assigned me as a sales associate at a magic shop, or the sleight-of-hand that passes for magic around here.

[He rolls his eyes, and then puts on a more serious, but still friendly, face.]

For those I haven't met yet, my name is Kang. Back home, I am the Lord-Governor of my people's nation, and here, I am the Director of SELF, short for the Sentient Life Fund. Many of us non-humans have noticed how human-centric this world is, understandably, and my organization exists to help provide resources for those of us with more unique needs. We are always looking to expand our services, and I am more than happy to take suggestions and answer any questions you may have.

Mmm... were you around for the time loop? I don't know exactly when you were Ported out.

I was here for that. I think I got Ported out at the beginning of May.

[A pause.]

My hatchday passed. I suppose that makes me 83 now.

[h2no]

Hmm... I want to say it was quiet, but just because I found it quiet doesn't mean other people did. I suppose there wasn't anything big enough to affect an entire city like the missile.

[he snorts, despite the morbid topic.]

Happy Hatchday. You look good for it!

[governorkang]

That's good to hear.

[But also worrying. It's never quiet for too long in this universe.]

I certainly hope so. I've got another eight or nine centuries to go.

You gonna have a hatchday party or not bother?

[he can understand why he wouldn't but also... any excuse for a rager.]

I don't know. It's really just a day I picked at the insistence of someone who has long since gone home so that she could throw me a party. I was planning a cookout, though. If someone wanted to do something then, I wouldn't complain.

Well, I don't quite have the means for a party but I wouldn't be opposed to takin' you out for a nice hatchday meal.

[they died violently together, that means they're like bffs now right]

I know about six, but my favourite has to be Wish You Were Beer, and not just for the pun.
