What in the actual hell is wrong with some of you?

The "Natives" are planning a nationwide sit-in to protest our apparent militarization of space and *this* is how you respond? Shooting people in the street and ripping up empty lots? And for what, 15 minutes of fame? Fearmongering?

Are you *trying* to give them a reason to start a riot that could lead to attacks on us simply because we're imPorts?

I'm not surprised that things such as this are present, but that they'd be so blatent about it.

Other than "we'll provide housing and quasi-civillian jobs as long as you're registered to be a living weapon when we call on you".

It goes hand-in-hand. Something bad happens, and the immediate response is to make it worse. It is part of human nature, to exacerbate a situation, usually for the benefit of an additional entertainment value. To "push the limits" of what becomes tolerable.

Your righteous anger is righteous.

It is also unfeasible.

If one wants to push limits they can create a piece of unsettling performance art.

Not murder people in the street.

I don't care if my anger at the situation is impractical. We need to start bridging the gaps between our communities.

At the very least some subtlety. I have no illusions that this kind of behavior isn't common- power, corruption, etc- but they could avoid *smearing* it everywhere.

Earth does appear to have the tendency to not only refuse to hide their crimes, but commit them while wearing brightly-colored costumes and loudly proclaiming their culpability.

To do the like while possessing a fraction of the population of the natives is folly.

I would argue that my variant of earth at least attempted to keep crimes of the supernatural and mystical varieties behind a veil. But then I remember that we had a rash of stalking incidents involving people dressed up like clowns so there goes that argument.

But you're correct. We have a fraction of the population. We may be to them as gods, but there is strength in numbers. And technology.

That said we should expect retaliation. Possibly riots...

Control the Judiciary? The system exists to control society's failures. The appropriate response for transgression is punishment - the sense of just desserts. Bump them down off that cloud of non-consequence they're sitting on.
