I have a task available for any imPorts looking for work. A simple retrieval, quite legitimate.

Something was taken from me earlier this year. A weapon I crafted with my own hands, long ago: my lightsaber. A curved hilt, which emits a red blade of energy when activated. Powerful and elegant, if wielded by the proper hands. It is past time that it returned to my care, and I am prepared to offer a most handsome reward to anyone who assists me in this task. Should we be unable to agree on a fitting financial compensation, I am quite prepared to trade in favours or information instead.

Rest assured that I desire this item for no sinister purpose. It is my own creation and rightful possession, and I have keenly regretted its absence during recent perils.

I encourage all of you who don't have some manner of weapon or suitable powers to think carefully of how you, too, can defend yourselves. We live in dangerous times, and our enemies are many. Tell me, are you prepared to protect your own life and the lives of those around you when danger threatens? The time may come for you, if it hasn't already, when you will have to answer this question in ways beyond the hypothetical.

A blade of pure energy is far lighter than one of steel, for instance. And far more powerful, as well. A lightsaber can cut through almost anything, and even deflect energy attacks.

I would be delighted to arrange a display for you, Hange. And hopefully I will soon be able to do so with my own weapon, instead of having to find a common rapier from an antique merchant.

You expect to retrieve it so easily, then? Given recent revelations, I'd imagine that those who have deprived you of such a weapon would be reluctant to return it... though, if the person roams at large, than withholding the weapon is at least somewhat pointless.

I hardly expect their cooperation. However, I have learned to believe in the strength of the imPorts. With the proper assistance at my side, nothing is impossible.

I have no desire to incite conflict, I assure you. I am confident this matter can be resolved without any violence. My lightsaber may simply disappear from one place and reappear somewhere else, as it was originally taken.

Hmhmhm. This seems like the type of operation that might incite conflict no matter whether it's desired or not! Of course, the prize might be worth any trouble. And I don't begrudge you your weapon. I would be livid if my gear were taken from me.

I appreciate your understanding, Hange. Might I ask if your gear is of similar uniqueness to my lightsaber? An item of particular craft and potency?

Yes, I suppose. The tactical gear, or 3DMG, or 3D maneuver gear, allows humans to maneuver in three dimensions, which you guessed, I suppose. It's a weapon we use against titans, dangerous but a great deal of fun, and hard to replace.

Three dimensions... I take it you are describing something that grants the power of flight, then?

Something like that, though what you're picturing probably isn't what it's like. [she can guess that much.] Scouts don't defy gravity, though we annoy it when we use the gear.

However it functions, the added mobility must be a powerful advantage against a larger opponent.
