[ hello everyone, today Kaneki is here on video, wearing glasses because he is pretty much blind at this point ]

I've been here for a while, and yet I've never been to New York. I just realized that. [ he smiles a little and shakes his head ] before I arrived here, I've never stepped outside Tokyo, and here I am in America, and have not yet visited the most popular of cities... it's a bit of a waste, I think.

That's why I am thinking of going there the first week of December, and was wondering if anyone would like to come along. Might as well enjoy ourselves while here.

Speaking of which - since I've never been to New York before, but some of you have - what are the best places to visit? I'm specifically looking for libraries, but I'm sure there is a lot more than that.

[ and Kaneki will turn off the feed with a small bow of his head. There, not suspicious at all, just a fun touristic trip, totally something kaneki would do except not ]

It's more bookstore than library, but you'll absolutely want to see the Strand.

Bookstores are fine as well. [ kaneki's first date in this world was to a bookstore, actually ]

I'm very curious to visit, since it's so popular.

I wouldn't rule it out. It has been some time since last I saw the City, though it's hardly the one in which I lived before.

As long as you wouldn't mind the company of the Psychopomp.

I'm a book enthusiast, so I will be visiting bookstores, libraries and similar places. But I'm fine visiting everything else, honestly.

I know this is a big city with a lot to offer.

Ahh, I've heard that New York City has a very famous public library system! The main branch has lion statues outside the entrance!

I have heard the same! I plan on visiting it and any book places around.

I probably will spend all my money on books. [ that's all kaneki spends his money on... ]

No. [ it's true that he doesn't want to be reminded of what he did and this is a great excuse, but Kaneki has other plans for New York ] I have no reason to get away from here. Or you. [ he knows that's what she meant ]

[There's relief in his answer.  She figures she's simply projecting her issues onto him.  It wouldn't be the first time she's done that to another person.  She manages to look at him and give a tiny smile.]

Okay, good.  Have lots of fun and take lots of pictures. I hear Bryant Park is nice and it's next to the big library. You might be able to go skating.

[A bit more relief.  She won't be alone.]
