[ A face some might have familiarized themselves with by now, but for most, here's a brand new imPort on the Network. Sabrina doesn't look as visibly exhausted or stressed as she did weeks ago when she first arrived, appearing chipper enough in the feed that one could assume she's settling in well.

(She's not there, no.)

She adjusts the black headband so that she keeps locks of her blond hair tucked behind her ears and away from her eyes and face. In her hand, she has a notebook and a pencil. For anyone paying attention, somewhere in the corner a slick black tail can be spotted. There's definitely a soft mew before Sabrina speaks. ]

I suppose I should get into the habit of using this communicator. It's definitely handy, but... [ Her lips press together. ] Hi, I'm Sabrina. I ported in here a few weeks ago and even though the soldiers gave me some sort of introductory pamphlet I have to say it would have been nice if they had given a warning that Swear-Ins apparently have a tendency to go south.

Honestly, I can't believe those events are still sponsored since most people I've met so far have told me this is normal.

[ She showcases her notepad, setting it down on the empty dinner table of her house. ]

So, because so many imPorts have been here long enough, I'm going to ask what sort of things a newcomer's got to be prepared for. Moon base takeovers? Apocalyptic floods? Zombies? I'd rather not be caught off guard, if I can.

To be honest, it doesn't seem that farfetched. But to think the government would be doing that goes beyond morally and legally wrong.

I've never been to New York, but I'd like to someday. Do you know if this New York is like yours?

I'm from a small town called Greendale. It's um, a mining town.

Seems to be, from what I've looked into. But I haven't been there yet.

Which of the imPort cities did they send you to? Must be a big change regardless.

They housed me in Maurtia Falls. It's supposedly a quieter city? But it's still a lot more active than Greendale.

I might go to the city. But not where my house is supposed to be. It wouldn't be the same without my wife there.

[Hell, the house probably isn't even there.]

I'm in Heropa. Nice to be in Florida this time of year, I suppose. I'd like to visit the other cities too, though.

[ It's as if an inch of her heart breaks off hearing that. ]

[He has to smile a little, despite the subject. She seems like a sweet kid.]

Thanks. I'm...coping, I guess. Not much choice, right? Unless I embraced the 'this is all a dream and/or I've gone crazy' idea.

But... you shouldn't have to cope, yes? You can be angry.

Well, sure. You're not wrong about that. But what good would it do to get angry about it on the...internet, or whatever this is? Especially since we've only just met.

Besides, she'd probably roll her eyes if she saw me throwing a fit and not doing anything practical.

She doesn't. Knows when to be a listening ear and when to kick my ass into gear. I could do a lot worse.

So, what are your plans for here, then?

Get a new job...learn my way around...definitely not fight crime, or whatever it is heroes are supposed to do. Not with a typewriter. [He straightens his glasses.] How about you?

I'm not exactly interested in the whole superhero gig myself. I mean, I can't stand by as someone commits a wrongdoing, but a literal superhero?

[ Never mind she does moonlight as a do-gooder witch in a sense. ]

Well... there's a lot to mysteries to uncover about this world, mostly the Porter and the Fates. Trying to figure out how to get home would be my priority.

Got some important things waiting there for you, I suppose?

I'd like to figure that out, too. Obviously. But it seems like no one's made a lot of progress on that if there's a whole procedure for getting new arrivals acclimated.

Family, friends... school, I suppose. My education is important to me still.

[ Especially at the Academy. She's still hellbent on learning how to take down the Dark Lord. ]

It's strange. It's hard for me to believe that after all these years no one has learned anything useful.

Maybe they have. Depends on your definition of useful.

[He straightens his glasses.]

Anything that would provide some clarification about the Porter, or why some people are here and others aren't, or why it can't send us back but also can sporadically?

Yeah. That exactly. I have a hard time believing that there's been no progress at all, even if they don't have everything figured out yet.

[ She's glad she isn't the only with that suspicion. ]

Someone's got to be able to demand real answers.

Anyone can demand. Getting them is another matter. Ensuring they're accurate is a third.

I guess the questions then is... how do you make sure they're being honest?

[ Though magic helps in that case... if she or someone could use their powers on someone who knew something. ]

I think that might be a learn-by-doing kind of answer.

I think I might have to find someone working for the government willing to talk to me first.
