[ A face some might have familiarized themselves with by now, but for most, here's a brand new imPort on the Network. Sabrina doesn't look as visibly exhausted or stressed as she did weeks ago when she first arrived, appearing chipper enough in the feed that one could assume she's settling in well.
(She's not there, no.)
She adjusts the black headband so that she keeps locks of her blond hair tucked behind her ears and away from her eyes and face. In her hand, she has a notebook and a pencil. For anyone paying attention, somewhere in the corner a slick black tail can be spotted. There's definitely a soft mew before Sabrina speaks. ]
I suppose I should get into the habit of using this communicator. It's definitely handy, but... [ Her lips press together. ] Hi, I'm Sabrina. I ported in here a few weeks ago and even though the soldiers gave me some sort of introductory pamphlet I have to say it would have been nice if they had given a warning that Swear-Ins apparently have a tendency to go south.
Honestly, I can't believe those events are still sponsored since most people I've met so far have told me this is normal.
[ She showcases her notepad, setting it down on the empty dinner table of her house. ]
So, because so many imPorts have been here long enough, I'm going to ask what sort of things a newcomer's got to be prepared for. Moon base takeovers? Apocalyptic floods? Zombies? I'd rather not be caught off guard, if I can.
( ooc: please fill this form out, re: spoilers! thank you. )

Magic is real in your world? [ She's cautious to avoid using "too". ] Do people who can use magic sit at the top of some sort of hierarchy? I would have thought people would be afraid of something as mysterious as magic.
[ The orphan mention gets her sympathy as well. ]
I'm very sorry to hear. It sounds like it was really hard.

[He waves the apology off.]
Don't worry about it. That was twenty years ago. I think I managed okay.
no subject
[ Consider her intrigued. ]
I understand. I don't consider myself an orphan really, but my parents passed a long time ago, too.
no subject
Were you taken in by someone then?
no subject
[ She would honestly like to learn more. Maybe the more she studies magic here, the more chances they might have in finding a way home. ]
My aunties. They raised me.

I always wanted to be a fire mage, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. I'm still happy I became a blacksmith though.
That's really nice. I was taken in by my town's resident blacksmith, hence the profession.

[ A beat. ]
Do you miss them?
no subject
More than anything, I just wish I had gotten to know them. Figure out if what I've spent my life doing is what they would have wanted for me.
...You?

It kinda leaves you feeling like you're in a vacuum. Like you don't know where you came from.
no subject
[ Because she doesn't quite feel that way herself. ]
I've been so lucky to have my aunties. I've learned so much about my roots from them that I still feel connected despite not having my parents.
no subject
It probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again, there's a lot about myself I consider problematic.
That's...really amazing. I'm kind of envious. Your aunties sound like wonderful people.

But as angry as she was then, Aunt Zelda and Hilda have been with Sabrina every step of the way for the most part. In spite of her shortcomings, the horrible mistakes she's made and the countless times she's apparently brought embarrassment upon them, they love her unconditionally and protect her. ]
They are. [ Her smile is fond. ] Perhaps someday you'll learn more about your own roots.

Shouldn't be too hard, especially not on a world like this. There's too much to see and do!
no subject
It's all still... strange.

You mean the Porter?

no subject
Sounds familiar to you?
no subject
... also very real, I suppose.
no subject
What are those?

no subject
That can't be a coincidence. If Lachesis and Atropos are real beings, then where the hell is this Clotho?
no subject
[ A beat. ]
I thought most imPorts knew of this now?
