I have taken it upon myself to pursue creating community gardens for the cities connected by the Porter, given that my initial assignment was a crude joke. [ Oops, she didn't mean to add that bit, but Circe's done enough takes of this post already that she stubbornly pushes forward with it. She manages not to seem flustered. ]
But as I am unfamiliar with these climates, I wanted to ask a question.
What types of plants would be most beneficial to residents? As long as I am tending them, not all need be plants that are suited to that environment.
Thank you.
[ Does a post this simple really take that many tries to get right? Today, it seems, it does. Circe isn't used to the internet or having socializing readily available at her fingertips, so maybe that accounts for it. ]
[ ooc: Or it's the Zone of TMI event at work. Feel free to opt in/out of whether you want that to be going on during threads here. I have a plotting comment up if that's helpful! ]

Two days later, voice;
... Ones that bear edible food, I mean. There's a lot of fruit and nut species on this planet.
voice;
Are there any in particular you have enjoyed thus far? [ Circe knows one narrow biome: the Mediterranean. The plethora of plants and trees she is getting to discover is one of her favorite things about being here, but it can be overwhelming at the same time. Some direction would be nice. ]

I was pretty disappointed to learn that bananas weren't really an option, here. I'm used to planets with more stable ecosystems.

[ This is a question Circe can't help but ask. ]
I don't think I've yet had a banana, but fruit seems a good place to start. I could entice them to grow... but it would not be sustainable without me there. [ And they also don't make good spell ingredients when Circe's already worked some witchcraft on them. ]

[ Basic Earth-herbs and plants. ]
It's probably a matter of time before someone replies to this saying 'cannabis', so I'll get that one over with.
[ WHAT. ]

Those I had intended already, as I know of them; and I am uninterested in attracting legal complications.
[ Especially since she understands little of mortal laws and enforcement. ]

Were they turned back? What was the cause? [ Dryads turn themselves into trees from grief, but it's less common for mortals unless they are the subject of vengeance from some god. ]

[pun intended]
-is that it was a scientific experiment gone wrong.

I understand the literal words, [ because they got translated, ] but you might explain a little further what a 'scientific experiment' is.

What city would you want to grow them in?
video;
Any that would have me, I suppose. I haven't undertaken the formality of asking permission yet.
video;
Hm... that doesn't really limit the scope of where you'd be. My vote is on "not Jeopardy."
[ if only because it's a) a desert and b) a creepy cult town. Apollo gets the creeps just looking at the place... ]
video;
I was initially given housing there, and I cannot say I was sad to leave it. Deserts are a depressing place for one born of the sea. [ She means this literally, of course. ]

If you haven't already, you may wish to reach out to Haru Okumura. She's quite the gardener herself and may wish to assist. We are currently located in Heropa and it could be beneficial to have different types of gardens to go along side the climates of each.

It would not be unpleasant to coordinate upkeep if she was amenable. [ Circe frankly gardens to have some solace, but here she can see it functioning in a different role, that of giving her some alone time. What a concept. Alone time, as if she should need to seek it out. ]

[ He pauses. Taking a moment to think about it. ]
I doubt she would object. Gardening is a passion of hers and she's already started a garden near our home.

[ Circe's tone warms with a measure of amusement. ] I seem to have acquired more than one myself. I did not intend to, but it is easy to be greedy with so many new plants to learn of.

What sort of job did they give you at first? Mine is also completely ridiculous.
private | video
It was detestable. [ Her nose scrunches in distaste. ] As an assistant cook at a restaurant serving pig.
I turn horrible men into pigs as a humiliation -- I do not eat them. [ Not that she'd meant to admit it was to humiliate them... But come on, she has standards. ]

[ Sabrina makes a face thinking of the Feast. ]
In my world witches are also really into cannibalism. My own aunties have eaten other witches.

voice;
I don't know anything about gardening. [So...why is he replying. It's not really like him, but-] But it's a nice idea.
voice as well then
Is that so? Would you like to learn something about gardening, if you think it is nice?
video;
[He hmmms like he's deep in thought about this, which he is--Izuku's a nerd and a natural babbler at the best of times, and the Zone of TMI probably isn't helping.]
Maybe some plants with medicinal properties too...though I don't know as much about that. I could do some research and get back to you?
no subject
If you wished to, I would not say no. I am familiar with the medicinal plants around the Mediterranean Sea, but not here; and enough time has passed for me that they may not be in the same form even if I did know them.
