That's a big question to ask.

I do consider myself a rebel. I am a part of a rebellion against a corrupt military dictatorship at home.

To me it means working against groups who want to limit the freedom of others, or working against a government that is actively hostile towards a particular group of people.

And I guess I'd define it the same way. Working for freedom from an oppressive force.

To me, being a rebel would mean an active form of resistance. Unregistering, or protesting whoever is in charge, or working against them in some way.

I'm skeptical of the American government. I have always been skeptical of them. But I'm not rebelling against them.

On the other hand, it is possible to have a rebellious outlook, which doesn't necessarily mean taking action. It's simply a mindset that resists being ordered around and is more likely to cross into active rebellion.

I was actually a member of a group calling itself the Rebel Alliance back home, so yeah, I guess I consider myself one.

I chose to join the rebellion because the government of my galaxy is corrupt and oppressive, enslaving people and worse. So, I fought it.

To be a rebel you need something to be rebelling against. Like the government or an ideal you don't agree with.

I'm not sure I'd consider myself a rebel, but I have rebelled against certain things.

but on a personal level I think it means wanting change and wanting things to be better and being willing to fight for what you believe in? does that make sense

Not doing it just to piss someone off, but because their way isn't going to do the things you need or want.

Yes, I do.

I'm member of the Resistance, a group that fought in the dimensional war to defeat a mad man and his plan to unite the four dimensions into one. Fighting Academia… to free our home world and save our comrades… it meant everything to me.

I guess, who you define being a rebel depends on what situation you are in though.

Yes. It's when you work against society's expectations in order to better it. You take power away from those that misuse it.

I have, in my day, been something of a revolutionary. Which is to say that I've stood against and assisted in the murder of a tyrant, in order to establish a more egalitarian society.

But I would not consider myself a rebel. I'm simply someone who knows where to draw the line.

my teachers back home definitely would have called me a rebel. they used to get on my case over the dumbest stuff too... anyway being a rebel just means you're not following the rules right? it doesn't seem too complicated.
