Greeting you today is a man with a bright smile and an even brighter shirt — aqua, with a tie that seems to match only in theory — and a look in his eye that twinkles with confidence and certainty. Yes, here is a man who is not at all questioning this place and its motives; here is a man who is totally okay with the situation in which he's found himself; here is a man who is a very good, very convincing faker.]

Greetings and salutations, fellow ImPorts! Allow me to introduce myself: Saul Goodman, attorney at law and soon-to-be judge. I want you all to be able to think of me as a resource — as someone whose purpose here is to assist where and when I can, at least as far as legal issues are concerned. For consultation purposes only, though; I won't... uh, really have the time to open my own practice here, unfortunately.

[And that does seem like something that upsets him, but he allows that emotion in for all of two seconds before dismissing it and focusing back on sounding genuine and honest. Which he is, to some degree. It's just... kind of rare, is all. But this is what happens when you don't want to upset your kidnappers: You do what you think you have to.]

Anyway, I'm gonna have to spend some time catching up on what's actually going on in this place, legally and politically speaking. There are other lawyers and legal professional-types around, right? We should chat. Oh, and for all you daytime TV-watchers —

Like what? You're new, so I get it. I can probably help with questions. Not that I've been here nearly so long as some others around here but. I can try. Sure.

I'm just wondering how often kids and teenagers show up here, since there seems to be a lot of you.

[Recent events have made him more, uh, sensitive to matters dealing with the young.]

I think there are new imPorts about once a month? Something like that. But uh, yeah. There are quite a few of us around in comparison to the adults. Even some younger kids I've seen around.

[Though not as many under the age of thirteen, of course. But Brenda has seen one or two around at least.]

Why?

[Saul frowns. Something about this clearly rubs him the wrong way.]

Trying to figure out what they could possibly want from kids. What happens to those of you who aren't eighteen yet? Do you get a guardian, or...?

Unless you could Kaiden, Jaime and I have no 'guardians' to speak of. And he's just one of our room mates. So....I don't think so. But we're like, sixteen so I'm not sure if there is something in place for younger kids that might show up. I guess the younger they pull us in here the longer they have us for to help them with this likely war with Russia? Something like that. Just my guess anyway.

[His frown deepens, but only momentarily. Then he assumes a more neutral disposition — this girl doesn't know him, he doesn't know her, so there's no need to be all emotive and shit.]

Huh.

[And that's as good a neutral response as he can manage: a contemplative, slightly surprised little "huh."]

Yup. So, I dunno that they are too worried on having a bunch of teenagers living without supervision for the most part. Far as I can tell anyway. But on field trips or whatever they do send us off with adults, if that makes you feel any better.

[Because yeah, Brenda's perceptive enough to note the frown and the likely reason behind such questions.]

[Which, of course, makes Saul feel terribly self-conscious and uncomfortable. He shifts around in his seat, then nods.]
