[Anakin has come a long way. He began this journey as an angry man bent on achieving his dreams no matter the cost. Now he is soothing an adorable bunch of squeaky puppies. In fact, he is holding one against his shoulder, gently patting their back.]

If you like puppies, come by for a visit. [A fluffy white young cat is watching the spectacle from a safe distance away, looking...unhappy? Unsure?]

You can give Obi-Wan's kitten some attention too. [The puppies are a bit demanding and just as he calms one, another one starts to fuss.]

I know, I know... It's okay. [He has them snuggled on a big cushion and their bellies are definitely full of milk. It's almost time for a good nap.]

[ They look absolutely adorable — all of them, including Anakin. Even the now quite grown kitten is utterly endearing in her cautious observation of what has become of her home.

Turning on the video feed to respond, Padmé smiles warmly at Anakin, perhaps more so than she's managed in quite some time with him. ]

[Animals are so hard to resist. It's impossible for someone like Anakin.]

I just brought them home today. I'm fostering them until their mother finishes some medical treatment. [He spent a lot of time with the mother, making sure she understood - as much as she could - that he would protect her pups.] I don't think we've had a chance to name them.

[But he can name them after stars... That would be cute...]

[Fumio, one of Abigal's dogs picks up her change in mood and walks closer, nuzzling her and licking her hand.]  It's okay, boy.  I'm okay.

Yes. Their mother has a nasty infection and she can't feed them or look after them very well, but in a few weeks, that will change. Until then, I'm their around the clock carer.

Of course you're welcome. [He brightens at the idea of knowing what the puppies might need or what they might feel they are missing.] These little guys probably miss their mother, so they need all the affection they can get.

I couldn't say no. I spent some time at a shelter, learning how to care for the really young ones and then their mother came in...

She's sick, but it's nothing antibiotics won't cure. The puppies are so fragile, however, that they don't need to be around her right now.

Can I... come over? [He feels a little awkward asking this, especially because of how he's treated Anakin in the past. Also, maybe Vader with puppies is a trap.

Everyone is welcome! [Well...almost. Anakin is in a good mood - having puppies crawling all over him is therapeutic.]

Well hello there. [He grins at the Loth-cat.] They are welcome too if they can behave themselves?

[He has a cat in his lap, and a strange pink fuzzy snake around his neck, but he had to pause and comment on the puppies. Stopping his work he leaned into the view and grinned.]

How cute. Puppies are some of the most calming things in the world, I swear. I love it when they yawn and squeak.

[The snake catches his attention most of all and he smiles slowly. How is it that animals can be so adorable? He has no defense for it.]

I do too. It breaks my heart when they cry. I'm trying to get them fed before they notice they're really hungry.
