[In the year and a half or so since his arrival, Kylo's discovered plenty of native customs and practices he enjoys- one of them being the frankly obscene indulgence of a very, very long shower. He's used up all the hot water on plenty of occasions.

But he's only very recently been introduced to bubble baths.

After a long day of hard work, there's nothing better than to sink into the richly foamed water to relax... and then scroll idly through the network, looking for the right flavour of trouble. And if there's nothing suitably provocative immediately available, if there's nothing he feels like responding to, or it's simply a slow night? Well, he's certainly not above starting a fight.
Thankfully (?) he won't be inflicting a video feed of himself sprawled comfortably in the tub on the imPort community at large, only this:]

Explain it to me.
How so many of you can be content in the belief that a person should be judged solely by what is seen of their actions, as if intention and circumstance count for nothing.

Sometimes people can't see past their own pain and anger to consider the intent behind actions, especially when that pain is a result of those actions.

It's far harder for most people to condemn a friend. Or a family member. Someone they profess to love.

There are times when intentions are just as illegal as the actions they precede.

Possession with intent to sell.
Intent to commit treason.

Intention and circumstance count for a lot. Things can go wrong quickly and people can do things they never thought they would before.

There's a lot more to intent than accident.
But we both know the difference, don't we. Between falling into the dark and choosing it.

It's because a lot of people don't understand other people's circumstances or intentions.
They don't bother to try to understand. They just rush to judgement.
They lack empathy.
For what it's worth, I've found people here to be better at understanding circumstances than they were back home.

Actions are concrete and factual. Intent and circumstance are subjective. Everyone's a hero from their own point of view.

Amazing how little comfort that brings their victims.

Most people don't get to see the intent and circumstances. Sometimes they don't believe in them even once they do find out. Sometimes the intent and circumstances don't change anything about what happened.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to look at someone who killed tons of people and decide 'I don't trust this person'. I say this as someone who has been the one judged, because even if my actions were done for the sake of survival, I still killed a lot of people and my circumstances don't change that fact.

Explaining the intent and circumstances though, that can at least explain what's going on. It's still up to others to decide if that changes how they feel about it, but at least you've got your side of things out there and the people who would give another chance now have the information to choose to do so.

Some actions hurt enough, are cruel enough that there's no intention that can absolve them. No orchestration of circumstance that can justify them. Some wounds can't be remedied by "I'm sorry."

Can you say that you're not the same way, truthfully? That you could forgive anything, if the reason was "good enough?"
