A recent conversation made me aware of the fact that while there is a large community of people here with powers of some sort, that some of us had them already before we arrived here and therefore know how to use them, and that others only got their powers when they arrived here. [Which makes them humans with powers, not mutants, but that's not a distinction he's going to get into right now.]

Which got me to thinking. Perhaps those of us who know how to use our powers could help those who don't learn how. Figure out the specifics, that sort of thing. Or does that happen already?

I remember seeing something about that when I arrived.

More along the lines of a support group. I wasn't thinking anything formal.

In that case, a support group would both be easy to get off the ground and more than manageable. [ she beams, ] I can at least help with renting the space, or at the very least, finding venues that would be willing to host it.

That's a start. [More of a start than anyone else have given him yet.] At this point, it probably doesn't have to be very large.

Yeah, but you still want somewhere comfortable, right? I'm partial to booking a private room at a place like the Nickel or the Iceberg Lounge, but a gym like Dawn of the Delts would work if you want to incorporate training too.

Training never hurts. [She's obviously a lot more amenable to the idea than Charles ever was.] Not everyone sees it that way, but weren't we brought here to protect from threats or something? We need to know how to do that too.

[ Hey, she still remembers scalding herself with coffee until she got the hang of her powers, and hers are fairly benign to begin with! Training is usually a+ in her book. ]

You know, it's been so long that I don't remember what the government told me. Regardless of why they brought us, we are trouble magnets... might as well learn how to protect ourselves.

Precisely. No one else will do it, so we should know how.
