001 > TEXT.

[Ward's throat still feels like shit and a half, but he's managed to process the following. He's no longer in jail (that's a plus), he's got super powers (he's unsure if that's a plus or minus) but he arrived and avoided the network for a few days out of fear of breaking the damn thing. He's decided long since then that he can't let Skye intimidate him.

She's here. And she's been here for awhile. She has home team advantage.

The only problem is they have a record of him. This whole registering thing was crap - what was the point of being given a second chance if he really couldn't leave Grant Ward behind? For the first time he wants to.

So time to test the waters. He's been to the ceremony, he's been sworn in, he's had a dramatic reunion with the woman he'd thought he cared about.]

New arrival here. Roomba salesman and repairman. Anybody else get a completely shit job? I know nothing about Roomba's.

Assuming Roombas here are the vaccuum robots. Y/N?

Also feel like shooting myself in the foot here, but is there some kind of a "so now you have super abilities" support group? Any help or advice appreciated.

[Reading over it two or three times he nods, satisfied that it's not incriminating, that it's blaise enough that even if people decide to ask him questions he can think up enough to talk about without screwing up.

He'd been in worse situations.

His roommates might have noticed that his doorknob on the outside was significantly bent and someone has been closing doors in their apartment very, very quietly.]

Yeah...? How come... you haven't re-started it here? ... If you don't mind my asking.
selfequipped: (thoughtful chin scratch.)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Where did you get the idea that it's not running here?

We don't make our business public, but we definitely always function as a team. I live with a teammate, Skye.
selfequipped: (see there's so much dubious)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, do you want on? Because we can totally make that happen.
hackitude: considering (my favorite pillow)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Um... thanks. I'm not sure that I'm exactly qualified to be an Avenger or anything, though. I mean. I'm just a normal person with really awesome computer skills. I'm like, barely a level one SHIELD agent. I mean, okay, my gun aim's gotten pretty good, but that's about it.

I was thinking, though... wouldn't it be better if we had like an official response team here? To deal with imPort business. I mean, not everyone they bring here is exactly hero material. Look at Ward. If someone like Ward goes off the rails... what are the cops going to do about it? He took out twelve highly trained SHIELD agents on his own once, and that was BEFORE he had super-strength.

If they're going to keep bringing in people and giving them super powers, eventually there's going to be super villains, too...
selfequipped: (what? i'm not too good for 90s music)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
We don't function as Avengers, so it's not what you think. We carry the cards, but we function independently. I don't take orders from Cap or Iron Man.

And I think a team like that isn't a bad idea, but I'm not going to endorse any one group that takes care of business. I've fought against Lucifer, I was going to break Mitchell out if that guy hadn't confessed, and I've fought at a number of different things. My team's going to keep being involved, just like I imagine the main Avengers will regroup and work together.

There are already supervillains, and some of us have been keeping an eye on them. If you don't know them, then maybe I should provide a dossier. They're likely to become known soon enough.
hackitude: eyebrows raised, informative (but you've given me the wheel)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying that there should only be one group that takes care of business or whatever. That's dumb. But if we have *a* team that has government sanction, doing stuff like co-ordinating with the police/FBI/etc on cases that have possible imPort involvement will be easier. No more... sneaking into morgues.

[Oh. Yeah. She knows about that.]
selfequipped: ((nv) wearing he damn pants)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you want a government sanctioned team.

Yeah, I'm not interested. Also, don't read my stuff anymore, Skye.
hackitude: confused, contemplative (look inside your heart)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't going through your stuff specifically. I was just interested in that case. Given that, you know, I'm kind of in the target demographic.

Why not interested? I'm not saying we have to be their lapdogs. It would just make access to information so much easier. As well as gaining their trust. Maybe they'd let us have a look at the Porter.
selfequipped: (protect him from gillen at all costs!)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
That information could get me arrested!

I don't work for the government. I'm not registered. Has Loki told you anything about the Civil War back home?
hackitude: unsure, conversational (but I won't bow down)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not going to tell anyone. Still, if you're going to talk about that stuff not face-to-face, do you want me to give you a secure encryption? Even Tony shouldn't be able to hack it, I've checked.

Wait. Civil War what?
selfequipped: (SENSIBILITY AND SENSE)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
This might help get you started.

And I'll ask David for one.

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Skye takes her time carefully reading the post and the responses, so it's a while before she replies again.]

Wow. That's... a lot to take in.

Of course, you do know that if the government is planning something like this, having some people actually on the inside to get advanced warning and actively fight against it before it's implemented would be a good thing, right?
selfequipped: (what do you think these photos are?)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Didn't you just tell me you're bad at being a spy?
hackitude: unsure (standing out there alone)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-17 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It wouldn't be spying. It'd be legit, for the most part. Just also... keeping an eye and ear out for anything going bad. That's all. Like... a mine-shaft canary.

selfequipped: (space is SO interesting face)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-17 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, that. I do have registered friends.
hackitude: nope, shrug (got my things packed)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-18 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Of course you do. You have me. For starters.

I'm just saying. Eyes on the inside? Not a bad thing.
selfequipped: (okay. so i stole SOME music.)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-18 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
But what you're suggesting isn't the same thing.
selfequipped: (patented sympathetic look.)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-18 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
How do you think this group is going to end up with insider info?
hackitude: listening, curious (outside in december)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-18 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't exactly... thought that far ahead... yet??

[Skye: not exactly the best at future planning.]
selfequipped: (i think your pants fell down.)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-18 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think you have to have everything laid out, but Holiday hasn't exactly rushed to ask for our help yet. The government isn't asking for us to do anything yet. Maybe once they do, you can be the first to sign on the dotted line, but from what Holiday's told me, directly, when I wanted to help out with a case, they aren't exactly keen on opening things up to us.

They want our help, but they aren't using a rallying call yet.
hackitude: downcast, confused, unsure (comin' right to your ear)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-18 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, I guess.

[She's not particularly enthused, but oh well.]
selfequipped: (coolly dumping you.)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-18 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I would never tell you not to help. I've done a lot of stupid things to help.

It's not wanting to help that's the problem here. It's the political situation.
hackitude: unsure, isolated, awkward (i got some secrets i forgot to mention)

[personal profile] hackitude 2014-09-19 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well it's not like I can fix that.

I just feel so useless right now.
selfequipped: (this is the unsure sunglasses)

[personal profile] selfequipped 2014-09-19 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Then do something.

There are a lot of moving pieces, and I'm limited. What I learn is always a fraction of the knowledge. Go out there and create your own database on everything that's going on, especially in regards to the political situation.

Once we know what's going on, we'll be able to help more.

[Kate only realizes after she sends the comment that she just played leader there.

Well, Skye needed it.]
