[ Gold. Hopefully you like gold, because you will see a lot of it. Heavy golden walls behind a large golden throne. Comfortably seated within? A potentially new face, looking pleased and overall just friendly enough despite being clad in full armor, complete with large, horned helmet and holding a golden spear in his hand.

Can you possibly see through illusions? Then enjoy Loki occupying a regular living room while casually holding a broom. He's just here to deliver a show, really. The armor and helmet are real, however.

After permitting the image to settle for a moment, he finally speaks. Loki's initial words are measured carefully. ]

Mortals of this realm.

[ He raises from his throne and takes a step forward before settling into a meaningful pose. ]

You have earned yourself the protection of a god.

[ You get another moment to take this in. Or just enjoy looking at this god. Then, all of Loki's dignified behavior and display slips away in favor of a wide, open grin and his unoccupied hand gestures lightly. ]

They could have just asked, though. You know? Instead of just pulling me here and--

[ He lets that trail off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Let's not talk about that, okay? ]

I am Loki. Rightful King of Asgard.

[ That same hand that has just been gesturing dismissively is now placed over his own chest as Loki offers a bow to his audience. ]

And I look forward to serving you.

[ For his roommates at Nonah #004: Your living room is currently stuck under an illusion. You will find yourself stepping right into Asgard's throne room. It's painfully golden. Enjoy your new Asgardian pest. ]

If only I was lying.

[He's utterly deadpan.]

You helped us in fighting an inter-dimensional parasite that you sicced on a teammate to try and steal his magic, or control him.

[ You know, that doesn’t sound too unfamiliar. He did lure Laufey to Asgard under the promise of killing Odin only to kill the Frost Giant and paint himself as the hero.

And he’d probably do it again. ]

Did that teammate possess powerful magic?

[ Priorities?

But no, he still doesn’t believe you. ]

You more or less know yourself, Loki. How powerful would someone have to be for you to go chasing after their magic?

[Not that he considers Loki a threat here. Still, it seems a fair argument to make. But perhaps more detail.]

The Demiurge is a reality warper, god and patron of magic, and a being who is said to one day rewrite the rules of magic in such a way as to echo forward and backward through time to the beginnings and ends of the universe. And all without a word.

[ Loki takes a moment to evaluate that information. Not that he has ever considered the possibility of stealing magic from someone else. He has done the much more old-fashioned exercise of studying what magic he is familiar with.

But hey, he is given new ideas here, for free. ]

I think I would be interested in that.

I know. Good thing you realized how bad of an idea it was. And the fact that you couldn’t begin to control it. Not to any real depth.

[ he snorts a bit. ]

Could you possibly cease talking as if I had actually been present for those events?

If I refer to it as if it were you, perhaps you will take the mistakes of his life to avoid them in yours?

[ Rightfully. ]

My people stopped worshipping Asgardians and misplaced Jotun a while ago. Didn’t know I needed to still have faith. I’ll correct myself.

[All of the sarcasm.]

[ The misplaced Jotun hits a nerve and Loki can just barely restrain a snarl. ]

Watch your words!

[He waits half a moment for potential immediate smiting across the network. And when nothing comes he nods. Patient, subtle, or prone to revenge. Good enough for him.]

Of course. Never again. Suppose you could chalk it up to testing the waters. But that was unfair. And I do apologize. Not enough to bend a knee of course. Ended up traveling to a world in the multiverse once where apparently a version of Loki sort of demanded that in a public place somewhere in Europe.

[SHIELD in that world had not appreciated Kid-Loki. Which had gotten them hunted until they could find a place to hop dimensions again.]

[ (Uh-?)Fortunately, Loki can't attack anyone over the network. The worst he could do is destroy his own phone and somehow he has managed to avoid doing so.

That apology, however... It does its job. Also because Loki isn't too used to receiving apologies in the first place. But oh, doesn't that sound familiar? Making people kneel somewhere on Midgard?

Loki's reaction mainly consists of him pulling up his brows, blinking twice and looking maybe a tad too innocent. ]

Well. It had worked?

[It... it had what? Now David is looking at him in shock.]

Tell me that wasn’t you.

Now, I had to get myself arrested somehow.

[ And divert the attention of... Well. Everyone. ]

Wh-...

I don’t know if I should be impressed or annoyed. I’m going to choose the former, but only if you meant to have the Avengers after you.

That was the plan. And it worked splendidly. They took my right where I needed to go.

[ And the entire plan might have worked better if Thor hadn’t shown up as well. ]

[Well, he supposed he can REALLY understand the way they were treated then. And it isn’t fair to hold it against Loki.]

I have heard tell of people from that world here. Be careful. Some may punch first and ask never.

I have been told my brother already departed.

[ And as long as no huge, green monster is here, that would be his greatest concern. ]

Oh. That's sad to hear.

[Peter could have used the guy in his corner.]

Who knows, maybe he'll be back.

[ Please, no. ]

I do prefer his absence, however.

Of course you would. But if he isn't here, how are you to make him bend the knee?

[You ARE seeking to be acknowledged as a ruler. Surely that should include from your brother. Or so David believes.]

[ Loki let’s out a brief sigh, shaking his head. ]

All I want of him is to be left alone.

[ Ignore the faint bitterness. Thank you. ]

[Well, that makes sense. Siblings, right? Being stuck in the shadow of one had to suck.]

Then I hope you make the most of the time that he isn't here. To make a name for yourself. Hopefully a positive one beneficent to more than just yourself.

[ You know what? He hates you a little right now for actually offering sound advice. Even one Loki may wish to follow somewhere deep underneath that pile of inner denial.

Though the question remains of whether or not he will succeed, if he’d try. Or whether he will end up sabotaging himself as he so often does. But guess what? He will be honest with you. ]

I currently loathe you for making this much sense.
