[ Gold. Hopefully you like gold, because you will see a lot of it. Heavy golden walls behind a large golden throne. Comfortably seated within? A potentially new face, looking pleased and overall just friendly enough despite being clad in full armor, complete with large, horned helmet and holding a golden spear in his hand.

Can you possibly see through illusions? Then enjoy Loki occupying a regular living room while casually holding a broom. He's just here to deliver a show, really. The armor and helmet are real, however.

After permitting the image to settle for a moment, he finally speaks. Loki's initial words are measured carefully. ]

Mortals of this realm.

[ He raises from his throne and takes a step forward before settling into a meaningful pose. ]

You have earned yourself the protection of a god.

[ You get another moment to take this in. Or just enjoy looking at this god. Then, all of Loki's dignified behavior and display slips away in favor of a wide, open grin and his unoccupied hand gestures lightly. ]

They could have just asked, though. You know? Instead of just pulling me here and--

[ He lets that trail off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Let's not talk about that, okay? ]

I am Loki. Rightful King of Asgard.

[ That same hand that has just been gesturing dismissively is now placed over his own chest as Loki offers a bow to his audience. ]

And I look forward to serving you.

[ Darn it, Peter. That means his little invasion on your city lies over a decade in the past? Twelve years have passed and within those twelve years Asgard supposedly gets destroyed?

Learning about the future is... Hel. If he can't figure out a way to use this knowledge he'll be damned.

For now though, this Asgardian at least looks puzzled. For a moment. ]

Were you even still born when I attacked your city?

[ ARE YOU REALLY ALREADY TWELVE YEARS OLD? Shouldn't humans be all grown up by that point? ]

Okay, first of all? I'm seventeen. And second of all, I would've been twenty-two in 2024, except some asshole named Thanos killed me for five of those years.

[ And yet again he has a lot to unpack here.

First and foremost: Thanos. Is this that great plan that the Titan requires the Tesseract for? The Tesseract that is to be brought to Asgard along with him?

Is this why Asgard supposedly gets destroyed?

Is it in the end his own fault after all?

Loki closes his eyes for a moment, straightens a frown that has settled unintentionally before nodding once, more to himself than anyone else. ]

Right. Of course they undid it.

[ He looks at Peter again, seemingly having recovered from his unshared thoughts and even puts on the vaguest smile. ]

You should thank me then, for bringing them together.

[ Peter flinches at that thought instinctively. Opens his mouth to make some of those exact connections about the Tesseract - and then closes it. That’s something Spider-Man heard from the Avengers. Peter Parker might have been Stark’s intern, but he’s pretty sure that he isn’t supposed to have all of those details. ]

Yeah, I’m still not feeling grateful. One of your Chitauri spaceships kind of squished my aunt’s house.
