A potentially new face, looking pleased and overall just friendly enough despite being clad in full armor, complete with large, horned helmet and holding a golden spear in his hand.

Can you possibly see through illusions? Then enjoy Loki occupying a regular living room while casually holding a broom. He's just here to deliver a show, really. The armor and helmet are real, however.

After permitting the image to settle for a moment, he finally speaks. Loki's initial words are measured carefully. ]

Mortals of this realm.

[ He raises from his throne and takes a step forward before settling into a meaningful pose. ]

You have earned yourself the protection of a god.

[ You get another moment to take this in. Or just enjoy looking at this god. Then, all of Loki's dignified behavior and display slips away in favor of a wide, open grin and his unoccupied hand gestures lightly. ]

They could have just asked, though. You know? Instead of just pulling me here and--

[ He lets that trail off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Let's not talk about that, okay? ]

I am Loki. Rightful King of Asgard.

[ That same hand that has just been gesturing dismissively is now placed over his own chest as Loki offers a bow to his audience. ]

And I look forward to serving you.

[ Loki observes with a slight tilt of his head. ]

[Keith just stares at him. For a long moment.]

[The truth is he likes that wolf more than he likes most people, so he's trying to decide if that is an actual threat.]

[ Loki simply nods his head in acknowledgement. Pets aren't necessarily something he is very used to.]

This place simply feels cramped. Like sitting in a cage. [ Again. ] I feel it will take me a while to get used to these human dimensions. And there are cities to get to know...

[ So yeah. He will likely do a lot exploring for a while. And probably go to work only to return with a stolen birthday cake he has no intention of eating. Hopefully you like cake. ]

[Keith shrugs.] I'm used to spaceships. Some of them are a lot bigger, but...

[Space ships or space whales, but he's not even going to get into that.] Exploring is a good idea though. I'm still doing that too. This is a lot like the Earth I'm from, but before I wound up here I haven't been on Earth in years.

[So. Readjustment periods.] So... king of Asgard. That's a viking thing, right?

Asgard is a planet. One of the Nine Realms.

[ The response comes without delay and is accompanied by a slight frown. ]

Though I hear that on some versions of Midgard we are but stories. Likely this one included. But your Earth and the one I am familiar with seem to differ greatly as well if your people have already mastered space travel.

So... you're an alien?

[Keith nods to himself. Works for him, given that he's half alien himself.]

My Earth is a few decades beyond this one at least, so who knows. And humanity is working on the mastering bit. They've made it to the edges of the solar system on Earth technology. Alien technology is a different story.

That is a very overarching term if you ask me.

[ He clearly prefers Asgardian. ]

I agree, however. The technology on most planets vastly outperforms that which can be found on Earth where I come from as well. Even though most still rely on ships for their space travels.

Fair point. Not-human is what I'm getting at I meant. ...not that that's a bad thing. I'm only half human.

[So he'd be a hypocrite otherwise.]

Ships are what I'm used to too. Though my mother and I wound up on the back of a giant creature that swims through space like the ocean for a while.

Personally, I would not being human at all a preferable trait rather than the other way around. What are you, then, if only partially one of the mortals?

Riding a living creature through space must be a painfully slow way to reach anything.

[ For a moment he makes something akin to a suffering face, then settles with a short shrug, though. ]

Still preferable to having no transportation at all, I guess.

Yeah that was our choice. Space whale camping trip or trying to make it around the space-time drop-offs without any transport or supplies.
