[ Gold. Hopefully you like gold, because you will see a lot of it. Heavy golden walls behind a large golden throne. Comfortably seated within? A potentially new face, looking pleased and overall just friendly enough despite being clad in full armor, complete with large, horned helmet and holding a golden spear in his hand.

Can you possibly see through illusions? Then enjoy Loki occupying a regular living room while casually holding a broom. He's just here to deliver a show, really. The armor and helmet are real, however.

After permitting the image to settle for a moment, he finally speaks. Loki's initial words are measured carefully. ]

Mortals of this realm.

[ He raises from his throne and takes a step forward before settling into a meaningful pose. ]

You have earned yourself the protection of a god.

[ You get another moment to take this in. Or just enjoy looking at this god. Then, all of Loki's dignified behavior and display slips away in favor of a wide, open grin and his unoccupied hand gestures lightly. ]

They could have just asked, though. You know? Instead of just pulling me here and--

[ He lets that trail off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Let's not talk about that, okay? ]

I am Loki. Rightful King of Asgard.

[ That same hand that has just been gesturing dismissively is now placed over his own chest as Loki offers a bow to his audience. ]

And I look forward to serving you.

[ For his roommates at Nonah #004: Your living room is currently stuck under an illusion. You will find yourself stepping right into Asgard's throne room. It's painfully golden. Enjoy your new Asgardian pest. ]

[ Adam perks slightly at the mention of turning into a snake. Not just because it sounds really cool.

But they're onto fairies right away, so. ]

Oh, yeah. Hung out with them for a little while. They were pretty friendly, actually, they just liked to play pranks on people.

I can't exactly blame them for that. Humans are fairly easy to fool after all.

[ And sometimes it takes them centuries to figure out they were fooled to begin with. ]

Some of them, I guess. But not all of them.

[ Speaking of- ]

Hey, why are you holding a broom, anyway?

[ Welp. Here's a pause. And he glances over to the broom still in his hand.

And raises a brow. ]

So you can see that.

[ An observation. One he notes somewhere in the back of his mind and spins the broom around to set it on the ground, letting go and leaving it standing upright on the floor. Just don't ask. But he has his hands free now and lightly clasps them together. ]

Call it a test. Not many can see through my illusions.

[ The boy raises his brows slightly, looking curious. ]

I didn't see anything special. [ There was an intention there, he thinks, but. He really couldn't tell. ]

What did you do?

As I said: Illusions. I placed a mirage over this room as well as the cleaning tool. The fact that you can see through them...

[ Is mildly bothersome. ]

It must be either the powers you were given by this realm, or you were capable of doing so before. You tell me.

[ He could lie here, couldn't he? But there's not much of a point to that. ]

Before. I guess. [ How would he know? He's never seen Loki back home. ] Were you just trying to find people who didn't see it?

[ So no ordinary human, eve before being brought here. ]

Truthfully, I was curious to learn if anyone can see through my spell. Like yourself.

Will you tell me your name?

[ Oh, he’s quite ordinary, really. Very much so. Just a normal little human boy.]

It’s Adam. Adam Young.

Were there other people? Who could see through it.

[ He bets Crowley and Aziraphale could. Little does he know Loki’s already dealing with the first one.]

The Asgardian smiles. ]

What other talents do you have, I wonder?

[ Oh, no, not at all. Why would he ever want to? It would be such a waste of time.]

Hum. [ Adam thinks.]

I’m really good at making up games for my friends. And I thought my dog tricks.

I’m good at playing catch, too.

So you are a creative one.

[ He can approve of that. Imagination is never a bad thing. ]

The Porter bestows powers on all of us, though. Familiar or unfamiliar ones. And I doubt he skipped you.

[ Yes, yes he is.

He tilts his head slightly, casually. ]

Yeah. Guess it does that to everyone. [ Purposely avoiding the answer. ] What did it give you? The illusion thing?

[ He notices the avoidance. ]

My illusion magic, indeed. Also my shape shifting abilities and a few less interesting spells.

[ A pause. ]

Will you answer my question now? Or do you fear I might laugh about you?

No.

[ He looks off somewhere else for a moment, thinking about it. Partly about whether he really wants to tell him, and partly about how exactly to even put it. Because he has never quite thought about it.

He can do anything, really. Make anything real.

Or, he could, anyway.]

I can make things happen. [ He looks at the screen again. That’s not the full explanation, but it’s as much as he’s going to get.] ]

[ Well, it's fair. Loki left out the more important stuff himself. And he shall take it as the explanation of a child and just nod slowly. ]

Well. I believe this is not wrong.

[ For literally all of them. ]

Maybe, at a later point, you will feel comfortable with just showing me.

Maybe. [ Even this is more than he would have said a couple of weeks ago.

He’s been keeping his abilities mostly under wraps; his identity even more so. There’s just some things that are too complicated to think about and explain.]

You said you wanted to serve people. Why?

[ At this, he groans. The people here have this strange habit of focusing on the same, single word. ]

Try not to take everything you hear literally. I admit that I have sorely underestimated the contextual blindness of those dwelling on this planet when pledging my allegiance to the common well being and the goals I assumed to be shared among imports, but rest assured this will not happen again.

Or to put it more bluntly: I am not serving anyone. I merely stated that I accept the duties placed upon me and will stand by your side shall the need arise.

[ He’s eleven, Loki. A very smart eleven, but eleven none the less.]

Why not just say you’ll work together with everyone, then? It’s less confusing.

[ Not to worry, the actual trolling is left to a particular demon that’s probably under the same roof as the boy.]

[ And yet somehow he manages to be smarter than some ancient beings around.

As for this remotely-ancient being? Well, he just shrugs helplessly. ]

I believe I mentioned that I overestimated these people. I will be choosing simpler words in the future.

[ Just why is it the humans that so far have been proving to be the most reasonable? You guys are messing up his view on the universe. ]

[ Because humans are the best and the worst and everything in between. But humanity isn't exclusive to humans. Maybe Loki will learn that eventually.]

Yeah. That’ll probably save a lot of work.
