[ Gold. Hopefully you like gold, because you will see a lot of it. Heavy golden walls behind a large golden throne. Comfortably seated within? A potentially new face, looking pleased and overall just friendly enough despite being clad in full armor, complete with large, horned helmet and holding a golden spear in his hand.

Can you possibly see through illusions? Then enjoy Loki occupying a regular living room while casually holding a broom. He's just here to deliver a show, really. The armor and helmet are real, however.

After permitting the image to settle for a moment, he finally speaks. Loki's initial words are measured carefully. ]

Mortals of this realm.

[ He raises from his throne and takes a step forward before settling into a meaningful pose. ]

You have earned yourself the protection of a god.

[ You get another moment to take this in. Or just enjoy looking at this god. Then, all of Loki's dignified behavior and display slips away in favor of a wide, open grin and his unoccupied hand gestures lightly. ]

They could have just asked, though. You know? Instead of just pulling me here and--

[ He lets that trail off with a dismissive wave of his hand. Let's not talk about that, okay? ]

I am Loki. Rightful King of Asgard.

[ That same hand that has just been gesturing dismissively is now placed over his own chest as Loki offers a bow to his audience. ]

And I look forward to serving you.

[ Loki doesn't comment right away, rather listens as he follows along. ]

This Oto is a group of beings, rather than but one person? And in what way do they differ from the government, who openly asks of us to play their heroes?

[ And as far as he's cooncerned, they already know way too much about him. ]

What kind of things from other realities are brought here aside from people?

So far, creatures, objects usually the sort that distorts powers and the mind, and a war machine that was up above the planet for a time. We're not sure why that's happening.

It could be an Oto experiment to breach reality's fabric themselves. It could be reality is very unstable here. I've heard both theorized.

[He passes his room and Keith's stopping at the one now empty of the woman that had once inhabited it. Shiro presses open the door and reveals the bare room.]

Oto is different in they don't seem to have the rules that the government does. To them, we're test subjects. [He says that with a little more venom than he's said anything else. He could have had care with it, but it's a sore subject.] Lab rats. At least the government talks to us and treats our opinion as something that matters.

I don't know if Oto has successfully contained one of us before but I wouldn't take that risk. And there's that monster that showed up in De Chima. [He steps away from the now open doorway.] Wherever it came from or was, it was taking people over. even getting close to it...it was whispering in our heads. Whether that would affect you or not, something to be aware of anyway.

Sounds unpleasant.

[ And Loki knows there are a few unpleasant things from his universe he does not wish to encounter here. He will not dwell on those thoughts, however, but keeps listening even as what apparently will be considered his new room for the unforeseeable future is revealed to him. ]

Then I guess I will be mindful of unforeseeable events during my stay.

[ Be it the government, Oto or whoever. Loki isn't exactly going to trust any of them. Just going along with what is expected of him and keeping himself from slaughtering barely endurable beings.

But he has another thing he is curious about. ]

So... Were you being controlled by that monster as well?

No. Anyone not used to attempts to mess with their minds was the most vulnerable. [His best friend hadn't been prepared for it. But he'd had whispers in his head before. He quietly closes the door on those memories. He continues, his tone professional and brisk the way one used to giving orders or briefings would pass the information on,] Once one was looking for it, it was easier for them to resist. If you are possibly susceptible to it you know to look for it and should be fine.

Approaching it by foot made the attempts to influence worse. It seemed to have less reach or effect in the air. In De Chima sentiment towards us is at its most mixed. It could be a reason it was targetted.
