Kind of jumping back to that doppelganger thing, but I know what it's like to have someone with the same face as you. I also know how annoying it is.

I know you said nobody has powers where you're from, but what do you know about magic?

The only magic in my world is done by magicians. On stage or TV or whatever.

I was worried about my magic, apparently. I didn't always have the ability to heal or resurrect the dead -- at least not without performing a spell and sacrificing someone.

While my powers changed I also found out a prophecy about me that potentially spelled the end of the world. So I used a spell to transfer my powers into a mandrake plant because if I destroyed it, it meant all my powers would be gone and I wouldn't be able to harm anyone.

[ A deep breath. ]

... but the Mandrake came to life and had my face. Also my memories.

So you couldn't destroy it?

Not me. When she was ported in, I was ported out for a bit and when I returned I lost all my powers.

And what happened to your double? The Mandrake?

Someone killed her.

So you said you created it... with a spell? I mean, it wasn't a real human being?

Not quite, but she thought she was.

But my situation is different, right? Unless you're going to tell me Quentin Beck was made by magic.

But she apparently acted like me and hurt a few people. I still kind of get weird looks in Maurtia Falls, but I think most are starting to realize I'm not going to try and kill them.

Was anything done about the person who killed the Mandrake?

Not that I know of, but it was self-defense. The Mandrake nearly killed people here.
