I don't know a whole lot about, uh, school stuff. But a lot of imPorts just don't go to school. I actually went my first four months here without stepping into a school except for the one there was a swear-in at. I don't know what you have to do in order to get accredi- uh, to get the... Diploma? I really don't know how American schools work in the fine... details.

Anyway. They can't force you to go, and there are probably programs that would let you get the proof you know your stuff. Though, you may have to take a test, and you're very possibly going to fail the history section if your world is different enough.

Uh, though that may be a little hard with the current apocalypse going on, so you should probably keep whatever job they gave you. Unless it's delivering newspapers. You're more likely to run into the undead while going all over the city than you are if they give a job that requires staying in one place.

I believe you can a formal emancipation, which, in the circumstances, should not be too hard. That frees you up from any responsibility to do more. Then you can drop out, or get a GED, as you like.
