Hello, fellow imPorts. I'm Dr. Eli Ever, a neuroscientist with the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
[ He looks barely old enough to drink, but ooooookay. ]
I'm sure you don't need me to tell you we have a medical emergency on our hands here in Maurtia Falls and De Chima. The terrorist responsible has already taken credit for the incident and it's been discovered that the contamination is being spread through the water supply. To stress what's already been said: Do not come into contact with the local water supply in the affected cities.
My colleagues are currently investigating the situation and we're all hard at work on a treatment plan. In the meantime, I'm seeing patients at the NIH facilities at ground zero in Maurtia Falls. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms, please contact me immediately and arrange for transportation to one of our clinics. If you even suspect you might develop symptoms, do not operate a vehicle yourself. Experiencing a hallucination while driving could lead to a fatal accident and it isn't worth the risk to you or the people around you.
Be on the lookout for aggressive behavior, restlessness, disorientation, unwanted thoughts, paranoia, nightmares, or waking hallucinations. If you begin to experience delusions, such as the belief that others are conspiring against you, seek help immediately. People experiencing induced psychosis may be dangerous to themselves and others.
I'm here to help. If someone you know is in crisis and can't be relocated, let me know and I'll come to you. I'll take any questions you have here, although I can't promise that we have the answers just yet.

I'm relieved to hear you've avoided contracting symptoms yourself, Dr. Ever. That would be tragic given all the selfless work you and your team are undertaking.

If this is a disease I can contract, we're in bigger trouble than we thought.
How are you feeling, Victor?
no subject
It's very considerate of you to ask, but I've never felt better.
Nonah currently has no reports of the types of symptoms being exhibited in Maurtia Falls and De Chima, but that may only be a matter of exposure and incubation time. I'll be sure to keep you well informed.

I was under the impression it was a toxin though, not a disease? Though I guess that relying on the information given and taking it at face value considering who it was from isn't the best idea.
[ Even though she says she could easily last a month in her room, the reality of it is she's not going to last three days before running off to do whatever crosses her fancy after being cooped up so long... ]

Though I recognize your phobia - which is a common one - I strongly urge you to reconsider. Self-harm is one of the greatest risks in cases like these. The probability of death is high. I cannot stress enough how much more danger you will be in if you remain isolated and refuse care, especially if you've already been experiencing symptoms. Keep in mind that paranoia is one of those symptoms.
If anxiety is preventing you from leaving your location, I can come to you and examine you personally. Would you be amenable to that?

I mean as a former child soldier I'm much more concerned about others than myself. This is hardly the first time I've had hallucinations, though usually that's been due to drugs given to me by the doctor who looked after me most of my life. Which, for the record, is why I don't think this counts as a phobia or even paranoia so much as 'my last doctor was a mad scientist and I have to get used to the idea that not all doctors are going to use me as a lab rat and/or get me addicted to things to control me'.
If you promise you won't put anything into me, I can come to where you are. You can even take blood. But the moment it looks like you're going to inject anything, even a saline flush, I'm out. Is this okay with you?

audio;
What steps are you taking for quarantine?
no subject
Someone with the CDC might be able to give you more information. I'm with NIBIB. Quarantine falls outside of our purview.
no subject
I see.
Would you like an upload of my scans of the toxin?
[ Seems like the polite thing to offer. ]

We're not entirely sure how the virus released into the water supply by the Joker differs from Dr. Crane's, but a few years ago, another imPort, Tony Stark, released a nanite virus into the water supply that altered the biological makeup of not only imPorts, but natives to this world as well. You'll note the outcome out that by the presence of what are colloquially known as native supers.
My hypothesis for now is that this is something similar. Being that I'm... intimately familiar with both the Joker and Jonathan Crane, you should be aware that my company is already in the process of analyzing the types of proteins and peptides that we might be able to use to create a vaccine for this.

[Jane rubs a temple. Nothing has happened to her or the people around her, yet. Sure, she lives and works in areas far from it, but this is water. It will spread.]
Is there something we can do for those who do show any of these symptoms?
